Do any taller/larger lifters use the squat jerk? Seems like once you get into the 85 kg/5'8 and over, they either push jerk or split. Dimas/Kahki's jerk is sorta close to a squat jerk but it's closer to a power jerk.

Zhang Ghouzang allegedly can clean grip oh squat from the bottom position more than he front squats. Astounding.

Tension headache ruined my workout I tried to massage and stretch but it wouldn't let go. I forced myself to squat 100 kg, should have done 110 today, I benched 60 when I should be doing 70 and 100 kg deadlift. Just sucks

And holy shit on that vid.

Just look at the beastly roar he lets out when he throws that thing up. He may not have broken the world record in the C&J, but that was one of the best moments in olympic lifting that I've ever seen.

One manly tear is perfectly acceptable here.

that lift is fucking ridiculous. oh my god.

on a side note, i think i was operating at a level 38923x higher than i am now over the summer. Lack of proper nutrition, sleep, too much rugby&drinking, not enough lifting, and an irregular schedule makes me feel like total shit. I felt like superman all summer and now i feel like a waste of space

Yeah I've seen this one before!

some guy from the youtube comments
A lot of people don't realize how impressive this lift is. His first attempt with 246 failed, and his second was successful with 248. At that level (around the absolute max) to increase the weight after failing is extremely difficult. 2 kilos feel like a ton when one is maxing out. Yet AFTER failing, his lift was good. But then he went from 248 to 258. A stunning 10 kg increase (22 lbs). If you barely make 248, to be successful with 258 is beyond remarkable. His courage at doing 258 is legendary

I started running about 4 weeks ago, heel-toe technique. I read here that it's better to do front foot running so I would like to learn that but I'm not too sure about the technique. I found this clip and wonder if this technique is any good
(front foot starts at about 5 minutes).

Also trying to fit in starting strength with my kickboxing, hard to combine cause i'm hella slow the day after an intense starting strength session and get my ass whooped badly.

Bought some Vitamin D in a drugstore recently, thought it was alright till i found the calculation from mcg to IU and realized it only got 400IU per pill which is nothing compared to the 10.000 IU pills in Eshlow's article, guess i will order those next time

NOooooo heel toe technique is the way to get injured fast.

Mid-foot strike or somewhat of a forefoot strike is the best. BUt you gotta take it slow when transferring over because it's easy to get overuse injuries.

And yeah, you want a higher dose of vitamin D than that if you're not out in the sun a lot.

honestly there is no agreed upon footstrike that is the best. some will say toes, some will say midfoor and others heel. right now, a midfoot strike is more popular but you can do whatever feels natural to you. if you build up the amount u run in a week it shouldnt give u much of an issue.

on another note, i just finished off my cross country season. it went okay but i got injured part way through which kinda ruined my progression i got a 5k pb of 18:30 on a course with substantial hills and i broke my last year 7k pb by 6 minutes . too bad i was 4 positions from qualifying for our "state" (provincials in canada )

any other xc runnerrs?

Nice numbers, I could never run that far that fast T_T Anything over 100-200m and i'm useless lol.

But yeah i think the general consensus is fore/mid foot. Landing on your heel = shin splits

Heel strike has higher propensity for orthopedic injuries because its improper biomechanics for how our bodies have evolved.

Hello friends!.

Made progress on Monday > Wednesday and hopefully today too! :D

We'll see how it goes.

Monday went like this:
Power Clean: 57KG (I want to reach like 1.2/1.5 bodyweight for this)
Press: 57KG
Squat: 90KG

Wednesday:
Squat: 95kg
BenchPress: 72,5kg
Deadlift: 90kg

and Today I should make improvements on Monday's workout weights. wish me luck Fucko's!

GLHF funkie!

As for me, I dropped dead in my couch after work and woke up 30 minutes before my gym is closing so I will have to go tomorrow. I will squat 100 kg 3x5!!!

And I had a lady friend over yesterday, she was really impressed by my muscle gains :D

Hmmm, your deadlift should be higher than your squat by now I think....
