Hi all, I really hope someone can help me out.
I am currently a student and will be here in Seoul, Korea for the next 1-2 years. I have been struggling playing dota 2 in the past three months due to high ping and ms.
I would like to be able to play in the Korean servers as I hear the ping is something like 5ms.
I do have an alien registration social security code, and I have a valid working korean cellphone with a data plan.
I don't know how to navigate through the nexon website (because it's in korean) to verify my account, or how to fully link my nexon account to my steam account.
Can someone please help? I've looked everywhere online and there doesn't seem to be a very good guide...

Can't you just go to launch options and type -nexon. Or did they remove that?

When I lived in Korea two years ago, I had to download steam every time I went to a PC bang and then download dota 2 and then play on SEA. Of course, that was before dota was released in SK. Good luck~

You still need a verified nexon account that's linked to your steam account, otherwise you won't be able to log in

i am having the same problems as OP here, if anyone knew how the fix it i would be grateful.

i linked one of my acc to the nexon dota. now i'm back to my home country, and for some reason, i couldnt access the nexon dota website. no idea if it's related.
you could post some screenshots, i can help you translate them.
edit: from what i can recall, you will need to download the nexon's dota2 client then login to that client using your steam acc, and they will ask you if you want to convert it to nexon dota2. it's an irreversible process.

The primary problem i have is that when i go to the korean nexon site to verify my account through my phone company, it says that either my age or gender is wrong - maybe this is cause by the phone company having wrong information when they created my sim card?

is your card a prepaid card (like olleh's evergreen) or an actual plan with monthly payment? also, did you sign up the phone card using your passport or your ARC?
from what i know, prepaid card cant be use for account registration
if it is, i forgot if you can verify using kor email acc. One way is to use an email acc to verify the nexon acc., like registering a kor gmail acc using the prepaid card (which works, unlike than the daum/naver drive acc, etc).

Is there any problem to link your Steam account to a Nexon account if you don't live in SK? I have a friend that lives in Korea and I want some of the exclusive items. I think its possible to send him money through paypal and get the items in my main Steam account, right?

Ummm can someone help me out, i already created my nexon´s acount, i just need to verify with the cell phone, please i enter in perfect world servers and also to americans servers i am a real fan of the game, can someone help me???

By the way, to enter u just have to put in the launch area.

When you're doing the phone verification (with your Korean phone) look at your name on your cell phone bill and copy it exactly as you see it. Korean names put the family name first and my bill had my family name first and all of it in capitals without spacing. So whereas one may have the name John Jacob Smith, on the bill it's likely SMITHJOHNJACOB which is what would need to be entered for the system to verify you. And of course, check the box that says you're a foreigner.

Well then you can't get a Nexon account, unless you have a korean phone or id
