I recently had my hard drive replaced on my laptop, and after installing Iccup Launcher + Brood War, Im having a bit of an issue w/ a slight delay in response time when I issue a command. (Move/attack/build/whatever)
It feels almost like Im playing on extra high latency with no Lan Latency, but a little more severe. Its not a huge issue, but it makes it impossible to micro pretty much any unit effectively.
I had no issues with this before I had to replace my hard drive.
I am running a fresh copy of Windows 7 Home Premium and here are my laptop specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00 Ghz 8.00 GB RAM Intel HD Graphics 3000 Brand new 350GB HD.
I have up to date drivers for my video card, and have tried messing around w/ the Performance settings.
My computer does seem to be running slightly slower after replacing the hard drive. But not so much that it should have any problems running a 15 year old game.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah I had this before too. Does the entire game sort of lag including the mouse cursor movement?
I never fixed it but I did reformat my entire system with Windows 8 and it worked after re-installing everything.

have you tried running bw in another compatability?

Does it happen in single player too?

Eh, I had the feeling that after some patch everything started responding with a slight delay, even in SP/LAN, it's annoying. It might be just me, since I never saw anyone else complain about it, but it just seems units were responding a lot faster back in the day when I was playing in lan tournaments.
And yea, check if it lags in a tcp/ip game (you can try to play vs a comp).

Hey, I think I have a similar problem to you. Everything feels kind of sluggish, but as I never played broodwar in the good old days I can't really compare. Also, when I switch control groups while issuing commands (say 1 move 2 move 3 move), the game doesn't respond to half the input (i.e I'll see groups switch but the move command won't issue or vice versa). I use windows 7 64bits, and tried compatibility modes and assigning SC to a specific core to no avail. Also tried the -ddemulate in the game shortcut, didn't matter. The issue still occurs when I create a local game or during the campaign. My config consists of an i5 2500, a GTX560ti and 8gb of ram, and I never had a similar problem in another game, so it's not my keyboard ghosting or anything. Would be glad to have a solution, but I guess it's related to windows and I should just reformat
