and the 250 ssd is my only storage as I have two terabytes of external harddrives.
What parts are we keeping and what parts are we changing? I thought 1,000 to 1,2000 euros would be sufficient.

I would consider the Seasonic G 450 for slightly more: http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/450-Watt-Seasonic-G-Series-Modular-80--Gold_822536.html or forget semi-modular since there isn't many cables you won't be using on a 500w power supply and get a Superflower Golden Green 450 for less: http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/450-Watt-Super-Flower-Golden-Green-PRO-Non-Modular-80--Gold_688893.html The idea behind getting a semi-modular unit is to make cable managing easier but the Antec Three Hundred is a relatively old case that lacks cable management features so... Arc Midi R2 for slightly more is significantly better: http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Fractal-Arc-Midi-R2-Midi-Tower-ohne-Netzteil-schwarz_845575.html There's also the less expensive Arc Mini for mATX. If you want to stay at the same price range for the case, I'd consider the Corsair 200R instsead: http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Corsair-Carbide-Series-200R-Midi-Tower-ohne-Netzteil-schwarz_822379.html

I'd like somewhere around $500. What is your monitor's native resolution? 16x9, I believe. What games do you intend to play on this computer? What settings? Dota2. I'd rather if it were closer to max--animated portraits, etc--but if not then I'm not too concerned. What do you intend to use the computer for besides gaming? School work, mostly. Do you intend to overclock? Nope. Do you intend to do SLI / Crossfire? Probably not. Do you need an operating system? Yes. Windows 7 Do you need a monitor or any other peripherals and is this part of your budget? I would need them, yes. However, I would feel comfortable getting them on my own. They would be part of the budget but, like I said, the budget is flexible. If you have any requirements or brand preferences, please specify. I'd rather if there was a complete comp someone could link/provide. Making a computer is not possible given my time/knowledge constraints at the moment. What country will you be buying your parts in? United States. If you have any retailer preferences, please specify. I've always had good lucky with Gateway, but I'm open to trying anything...really.

Z77 is for overclocking, you want a less expensive H77 or B75 board instead if you will not be overclocking. Thermaltake has never been known for having well priced power supplies so there are probably better units available though its hard to say without knowing availability. XFX Core Edition 550 maybe? RAM is fine. Whether you should get a better CPU or not is up to you and also dependent on price. 4570k is for overclocking and will also require a 8 series motherboard, keep that in mind. Yes, the GPU is typically more important for most games and anti-aliasing. Certain titles such as Battlefield and Total War will greatly benefit from both a better CPU and GPU. If you're not playing any AAA titles right now then yes it may be a good idea to wait for new cards.

You should probably go for cas9 if they're noticeably less expensive since the FPS difference between cas8 and 9 won't be meaningful. Seems like you're insistent on not overclocking so the CPU is fine.

The regular 4570 cannot overclock, if you mean the 4670k then you will need a Z87 motherboard. If you mean the 3570k then you need a Z77 motherboard such as the Asrock Z77 Pro3 you originally picked. Yes, it is suggested you get a better heatsink for overclocking. You don't need different memory.

Base is $491 before OS and monitor, both of which are supposed to be in the $500 budget. Some kind of prebuilt from Dell or such (especially refurb / outlet) should be cheaper, considering OS costs. But for that matter, is Windows 8 acceptable or does it have to be Windows 7? There are more options if you allow Windows 8, which you can just use in desktop mode all day.

Pretty sure it has to be 7. I've heard bad things about windows 8 and Dota2. The comp linked to has for graphics cards "AMD Fusion APU onboard." What is that? EDIT: Also, I've been looking around and having some trouble finding something. All this time I thought it was relatively easy finding older comps(not like Dota2 is too demanding, after all).
