Hey, so I recently bought a SSD drive, only to find out that my motherboard doesn't have a SATA3 port -.- .... I was quite sure it has... Well, the thing is I need a new motherboard, with SATA3, for my SSD drive. It would be nice if someone could advice me something.
What is your current build? Intel Core i5 2400 H61 MSI motherboard H61MU-E35 4GB RAM Kingston PC3-10700 (677 MHz) AMD Radeon HD6700 500W OCZ ATX
Why do you want to upgrade? What do you want to achieve with the upgrade? A new motherboard with SATA3 port to support my new SSD drive.
What is your budget? 70-100$
What country will you be buying your parts in? Poland
Thanks ahead!
Edit: Oh forgot to mention, I have a micro ATX case, so micro motherboard is required :>

SSD's run on Sata2 as well. Sata is backwards compatible.
They just have slower sequential speeds, which doesn't matter all that much - the main benefit of SSD is being able to read lots of small files very quickly (where HDD chokes to 1MB/s, SSD's can still maintain 200MB/s for example) and that's not really affected by a bandwidth limitation

Need help with deciding with a new power supply. Want $100 Power supply that is at least 550w and modular pref.

What are you buying 550w for? For either crossfire of upper midrange to high end GPU's or running a single overclocked supercard like a 290x lightning, i would look to one with 3-4 native pci-e 6+2 pins - for several good PSU series they use ~2 until 550w, then 4 at 650w.
For lesser usages, 550 would be overkill

I thought 550w would be a good for my pc. I think 550w maybe a bit overkilled but that so I can maybe upgrade later on. What PSU would recommend me getting? Any on your mind?
If u say the Capstone 550w is overkill should I just get the 450w one then?

You're probably using a decent amount under 300w so yea it would be good enough, unless you plan on pushing overclocks on a 390x/gtx1080 while running your OC'd CPU etc (550w) or running two 280x/970 level GPU's (650w with four 6+2's)

Hello. I have another case when I have to replace my GPU. Can you help me chose best replacement?
What is your current build? Asrock P67 Pro3 (B3) Thermaltake Smart 530W 80+ 120mm APFC Kingston HyperX DDR3 2X 4GB 1600MHz XMP X2 CL9 Grey Edition (Sandy Bridge) Intel Core i5 2500K 3,30 GHz BOX SSD 120GB + SSD 60 GB + HDD 1TB Radeon 6870 HIS 1GB 2xDVI&HDMI&2xMiniDP (PCI-E) (dead)
What is your monitor's native resolution? 1920x1080
Why do you want to upgrade? What do you want to achieve with the upgrade? Old GPU died. RMA couldn't fix this and they don't have this model to replace so I get my money back. I want to buy similarly priced GPU with it. The only think I want from GPU is to be silent.
What is your budget? 759 zł (~ 211.6 USD)
What country will you be buying your parts in? Poland
If you have any brand or retailer preferences, please specify. I buy only in www.komputronik.pl I have few cases when I had to RMA, and I got only suberb experience with this.

Thnanks, I thought about it and I decide to stay with my old motherboard. I will upgrade MB together with new CPU somewhere in the future. Upgrading only MB now will be kind a waste of money, because even thou i will upgrade my MB I wont be able to put in newer CPU if needed in the future.

Any advice for buying a laptop?
I need one that can be light to carry, only for word processing, watching movies (VLC) and that's pretty much it.
Not sure if it is cheaper/better to buy a laptop at 13 inches monitor so it is easier to carry and then buy a monitor for at home
OR
buy a 15.6 inch laptop
This is for the Netherlands, any help is appreciated.

I don't think there's much better out there, i am not PSU expert though. ~$70 is more expensive than usual for the 450/450m, they have price cuts and/or rebates on newegg semi-regularly i think

ultra low power CPU (4210U) especially with only its own integrated graphics is something that should be used in very light laptops or not at all IMO, 15.6" is quite big to carry around when it has no hardware in it
|
My friend wants the 15.6 to watch movies, that's the only thing.
She's only using it for Skype, Line (Msging service), Photoshop, VLC, Word and Browser. Very simple thing, plus she wants the portability.

Still get a ~4200M+ if you can for a 15.6" (not a U) because pricing should be somewhat similar (i'm not sure really) and they perform a lot better
