And the Antec reminds me that I don't have any neon, LED, or flashy bits inside my case. Maybe one of those lightning tube thingies will make it perform better. Hmm.

Yeah the ThermalTake is nice because the door just hinges open by a button and the drives just slide into the slots on the side (rounded edges). Flashy bits are the best. Do it. Haha. I picked up that tube on Newegg for like $10 about 4 years ago, but I'm sure you could find something similar for cheap. ^^

Heaven 4.0 is a benchmark and GPU test, msi afterburner is a monitoring tool ![]()

http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=11130AC6518&vpn=RP-650-PCAR&manufacture=COOLERMASTER Would that work for a new LGA1150 motherboard (probably a very simple one without SLR/XFire) and an i5 4670 or i7 4770 CPU + GTX 770?

I think the eXtreme Power 650 is very similar to the 600 model (the 700 seems to be different): http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Cooler-Master-eXtreme-Power-Plus-600-W-Power-Supply-Review/1034 That's not quite as bad as I was expecting. It goes out of spec only above 400W. Technically it should probably be fine (oh yeah, it shouldn't be "Haswell compatible" according to Intel's testing procedures, but that's a pretty contrived scenario), but I wouldn't recommend using such a junker of outdated EOL shitware that some semi-reputable brand is trying to foist on the masses. I mean, when you can get passable power supplies under $50 and very good ones for $70, how can you not afford this stuff if you're getting LGA 1150 i5 / GTX 770 kind of parts?

I think you're talking about Extreme 2, which is a couple years old. This sucks too: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Cooler-Master-Extreme-2-475-W-Power-Supply-Review/1550 If not, in any case the lower-wattage models of Extreme Power or EPP had a different design / OEM anyway, even if they've been refreshed. Probably. It's not like Cooler Master wants to send these out for review, and these product lines are so old they probably shifted OEMs as necessary to chase rock-bottom prices over the years.

EDIT: The reviews for Seventeam stuff I could find were all saying the PSUs they tested were fine (not great but also not dangerous).

I would save money elsewhere (cheaper ram, cheaper case) and try to get a 7850/7870/R9 270/760 depending on prices. I am saying all this without knowing any prices.
