Laptop for $1500 or less that can play Dota 2

So I'm going to be living in a hotel for a few weeks and it's about time I bought a new laptop anyway, I've been doing some research of my own and looking at reviews mostly for MSI laptops but it's sometimes hard to know which reviews are reliable and some of them conflict and etc.

I'd really appreciate any advice that anybody has on a laptop for $1500 or less that can run Dota 2 smoothly, I'd like to at least be able to play on medium settings if possible, and if anybody here is Australian and knows a good place to look for this in Australia or Melbourne specifically that would also be great.

Also for any Australians and/or people living in Melbourne that know anything about mobile internet USB sticks and which plans/ISPs for that are stable enough to use for gaming that would be great too.

For dota2 it will be more then plenty for max settings

1300 for those specs is pretty pricy... you could find something similar for 900-1000 probably. I remember there was a lenovo y400 deal recently that was $800 for 3630qm (2.4ghz) / gt650m / 8gb 1600mhz ram / hdd-ssd hybrid. Dota 2 isn't that graphics intensive, you could easily max out the settings with a mid-range graphics card.

Check out the Asus Zenbook UX32VD 13.3 inches with the GT 620M. It's a very thin ultrabook that is below your price range and has a dedicated GPU (albeit a low range one) and comes with an SSD. It should run Dota 2 on medium with absolutely no problems and it's extremely portable.

The A-10 cpu is terrible for games, just so you know.

O.o on what basis? Obviously it shouldn't be in a gaming laptop north of maybe 600$, but it does pretty well for itself in pretty much every game except for CPU bound ones. (I guess in this case, Dota2 and SC2 apply)

Edit: Oh I see. @ OP, don't get an AMD cpu in any computer that isn't extremely budget oriented.

DotA 2 is on the source engine which is CPU bound.

Check around r/suggestalaptop and the notebookreview forums. As an australian, you should check out the W650EH from Clevo available at logical blue one. It's light, nice 1080p screen, 740m/i7 3630qm, with a large mSATA drive and option for a larger spinning drive for storage as well.

GX60 is a great value for money but it’s a DTR and isn’t suitable for CPU demanding games. What other requirements you have? Mobility, durability and such?

for $1500. I've used an ASUS gaming laptop for the last 3 years and it was excellent. The SSD is not required.
