What are your settings? Your speed? Are you running it as administrator?

I endorse this setup as there is pretty much zero impact on games. Zero FPS drop and almost no strain put on CPU. I haven't tried to set up an overlay or anything though, so I don't know if thats tough or not.

Into the FFsplit directory.

3. If you scroll down a bit on the download page (from the link that was posted in step 1), there is a list of screen capture programs that you can download. In this guide, I cam going to be using VHScreenCap4. Download and install it.
4. Once VHScreenCap4 is installed, go to your start menu. There should be a newly highlighted program there with a camera named Config. Open it.
Can't find this program on the page. Where can I find it?

Can't find this program on the page. Where can I find it? lol it seems like they took it off. I'm guessing they want people to use their built in video source, the FFsplit overlay.

VHScrCap is no longer on the FFsplit webpage.
FFsplit has its own capture system, and as such VHScrCap is no longer needed.

I keep getting error message "handshake failed "Operation not permitted" "Stream stopped" when I try to initialize my stream using this command: rtmp://live.justin.tv/app/live_(insert my key here).
EDIT: I got an established connection with justin.tv but now I got this error instead: http://tinypic.com/r/3520pxu/6

Looks like an RTMP issue.
Try one of their other servers.

My audio keeps looping any way to fix this???

Sigh. Same problem I have with every other streaming program T_T. My framerate in game stays the same (about 90). However, there is a noticeable difference in the way it feels. The game feels laggier, almost like it stutters when i move the camera around. The task manager shows my CPU utilization at 40-60 percent while streaming. Doesn't matter wheter I stream at 1280x720 or lower like 800x600, still the same problem. Framerate display in game does not change, though.
I have an AMD Phenom II x4 965 @ 3.8ghz
Anyone else experience the same type of problem and know any way to fix it? Thanks :D

Are you playing in windowed/borderless mode? Fullscreen mode and streaming do not play well together in a lot of games.
I highly suggest everyone having issues head out to the FFsplit site, as there are dedicated support forums and a support IRC channel.

I was able to recreate that error by incorrectly entering my stream key. Make sure you're entering yours correctly.

I've tried it minutes ago and it seems not to be very stable. 1. I downloaded the current version (3.5.6), after installing it now it wants to update it but it dont work. It says FFsplit.zip not found. 2. When I Stream with FFsplit it seems like it crashes after some minutes but not telling me anything, not in the Debug Console and not via Error Message. I only notice it in my twitch dashboard. Only sometimes i get a error message when Win 7 trys to fix the "problem"
anyone else has this problems and know how to fix it?

You will always feel a small difference when not streaming and when streaming, I feel it especially when there are a lot of units on the field and when a huge battle is about to take place, sometimes, it gets to the point where I can't micro properly because of it, but that is because of my shitty CPU.
Try tweaking the settings a bit, lowering bitrates, lowering resolution and try to shut down all programs that you don't need in the background (I found that Skype made my lag like a bitch)

1. The current version is 3.5.10, try reinstalling, as I do not know what can cause this problem. 2. You NEED to run FFsplit as administrator, right click and run as admin, if you don't see that option, go properties-compatibility-check Run as Administrator under Privileges. You will get some crashes from time to time, but it is manageable, every little while I alt-tab and check if I am still streaming (if you play LoL, you can tab whenever you die, or between matches in SC2). http://www.twitch.tv/ysnake, after I've done all the steps required, you can see my videos, all are 4+ hours long or the ones that aren't are just the ones I played that long, hell, I even streamed replying to this thread. Again, if the FFsplit keeps crashing, you either do not have certain programs that you need, your settings are beyond what your computer/connection can handle, you are not running it as you are supposed to, or you have other programs taking memory from streaming (having a huge hangover atm, so if it sounds unclear, I apologize).
Program needs some playing around with, but I found it WAY WAY WAY better than Xsplit.

Hi guys
I need some help - the quality that this program puts out is great but it causes a huge spike in latency, and I don't know why. My computer can handle streaming, and I have had no problems streaming with xsplit. My settings are:
Video Source: CHScrCap Video Bit Rate: 2500 Encode Preset: Fast Video Resolution: 1280x1024 Frame Rate: 30 Audio Bit Rate: 256 Mono
Here is the vod of my latency, it's very hard to play with (Skip to 2 minutes)
If anyone can help me that would be great :D
