run command prompt as admin and paste sfc /scannow that should run system file checker if the file checker repairs the file/'s reboot | ||

If you still encounter the problem try a system restore if you have a restore point. Otherwise try and repair your installation of windows by booting from the windows dvd. You could download the dll from the internet but you never know what you are going to get then. | ||

DarkEnergy, a registry error likely has nothing to do with it. When a program installs it leaves behind certain files from the installer that are required to modify or remove the installation. Could be that one of those is missing. Could also be a file for Windows installer or Install sheild is missing or corrupt. Some of the other things you suggested may fix the issue (the windows repair for example) but it's tough to say exactly what would fix the issue since we don't really know what he's trying to do. May even be an easier fix than that (for example reinstalling installsheild) | ||

Download InstallShieldEngineUpdate1050.exe. Once downloaded, double-click it. This installs the InstallShield engine for this version of the installation. http://support.installshield.com/kb/files/Q108322/InstallShieldEngineUpdate1050.exe Did you not even Google? | ||
