It's among the best fast 1080p monitors and at a decent price relative to competition in US, but the xl2411z has better strobing options (that are also easily usable with any gpu, or even without a PC as it's monitor side instead of relying on software)

the colors when strobing are better (or rather, less messed up) too. If you don't care about strobing, they're very similar

I'm looking at buying two monitors in a couple weeks. I want them to be the same.
I'm thinking 24", ips, 1080p, 120hz.
I want to invest but I'm buying a computer at the same time so price is a big factor. which is why I don't really feel like i need 1440p for 24" monitors.
I would like suggestions for a good combination of low price and sexiness

I don't think 1080p 120hz IPS is a thing, nor 1440p 24". Aside from some monitors that overclock, there are very few (i can only recall one, ~1440p 27") that do 120hz, and monitor manufacturers for some crazy reason think that 100ppi is the best people on desktops should have unless they're using 4k, so 1440p isn't available below ~27"

Oh well I'm glad I asked. Is it that IPS still doesn't do 120hz? or they only do it with the bigger monitors? would I get more benefit of getting a different panel and staying with 120hz or lowering it to 60hz IPS?

I could go with a 24" 1080p 120hz TN?

That's a very subjective thing. Yea, >60hz native is very new for IPS monitors and there's only like one at 1440p. There will probably be 1080p at higher refresh rates some time in the future

1080p tn 120-144hz is a big thing and strobing as well as gsync now are common on them. They're quite expensive though, especially the gsync ones.

There should be plenty of good 1080p 60hz IPS monitors, with good panel, stand etc. I don't know the model names but some people here do

I'm starting to think 120hz is out of my price range. So I'm learning more towards 24" 1080p 60hz IPS. it would be nice if they were ~$200 ea.

Except you don't have to go through eBay, international shipping, international RMA possibly (for international folk), you have more trustworthy QC'd panels, a non-shitty stand, the OC models should OC to ~100-120? I'm only worried that the new free/gsync monitors will retail at ~600, but since non-120hz 1440 27" IPS are finally dropping down to ~500 I think it's a slim chance.

No, you'll tear unless you hold finished frames in a buffer until the screen finishes the refresh period. It's called Vsync and adds significant amounts of input lag and also threat of stuttering unless every frame is faster than 1 refresh interval on your screen - which in many games, isn't quite true on 60hz even at 70-80fps.
