So I got inspired by a thread I read on the Starcraft subreddit as well as some threads on TL and had been planning to get a mechanical keyboard to replace an aging Saitek Eclipse I. The new keyboard is a Leopold FC200R/AW with Cherry MX Brown switches.
I was interested in the idea of having the pictures of the actual zerg units on their respective keys as a small little extra mod for my new 87-Key Leopold. After I got myself up to speed on Illustrator and asked a few questions to the guys at WASD I got to making all the keys I wanted for my set. After getting the Zerg units (and some of the protoss) handed to me by another Zerg player having already made them, I decided that all three races would be a good idea to have as I like to switch in between them. (Also, the price is the same for a set of 104 keys so you might as well use up all the custom keys you can get.) WASD made the whole thing very simple in the end and I'm very happy with what I've ended up with. Pictures are posted below.
Now I don't have much experience in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, but I think the keycaps I made came out as well as I could have asked for. The credit for the design of the Zerg unit and various protoss unit keycap pictures goes to -SadFrog- and the rest are made by Enzo (me) and usually pulled from official Blizzard images which I claim no ownership of.

To make your own, you must design a color layout with [this] and add it to cart, then go and add [this] to cart as well uploading your custom template designed in AI or whatever. I've been told the WASD keys fit well for Leopold and Filco keyboards for sure.
Cost for :
Leopold FC200R: $120 -
WASD 104 Custom Keycap Set: $70
Anyway. I can't help anyone directly make one of these but you can pretty well take the pictures I used or maybe I'll upload the template if people want to use pieces of mine. Thanks for checking out my new SC2 keyboard!
