I use the Logitech M705 wireless mouse.
From what I gather it tracks at 1000 dpi, however in SC2 i notice that the smallest movement increment seems to be much more that I feel it should be. When I move the mouse slowly and watch the cursor it seems to jump 3+ pixels at a time very often.
My question is, is this normal and I'm just being super anal or should a $45 dollar mouse have finer control than what I am experiencing.
I have fiddled with the settings and read other threads about optimizing mouse movement, but none of it has seemed to solve this problem (if it is indeed a problem).
Thanks in advance for any insight or advice!

$45 for a wireless mouse, I would assume they wouldn't expect somone to be paying attention to pixel tracking. Its probably made for standard office pc or home pc for casual use. If you want better cursor control get a higher end wireless or a corded gaming mouse.

It's the mouse acceleration. Logitech has a driver program where u can adjust it correctly. See the MarkCMousefix post i made here.

Windows has a non-linera curve when it comes to mouse acceleration. Most people who game professionally turn off acceleration, especially windows acceleration. Even the most game nowadays have acceleration turned off, it is still felt out-of-game. Also, wireless mice are known for mouse skipping, so buyer beware. The new ones are suppossed to be better though.

Make sure the bottom of your mouse is clean. Mine builds up gunk every couple weeks or so where it makes a noticeable change in movement, almost like your mouse is moving over a "lump." Because it is. That lump is on the underside of your mouse, and it's caused by sweat and dust build up. Usually it isn't a huge problem until a couple months have gone by since the last cleaning, but I'd recommend you do it every few days.
Take a tissue and remove any greyish looking gunk, see if that helps.

Thanks for all the responses!
@hp.Shell I do clean my mouse pretty regularly, but do you mean clean the actual lens on the laser or just the pads on the bottom, I will try cleaning the laser with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol!
@ slytown Interesting, every time I see a option for acceleration I turn it off, but I am about to read the post you linked. I'll post again if it is any help, in case somebody else with this problem is reading.
@Wilko I will download the latest Logitech updates, good call!
@Raikia Interesting, I wonder if it was the patch for me too. I don't remember when I noticed it but it may have been after.
@boblhead Do you have recommendations on a good low-cost wired mouse for Starcraft 2and BF3. I don;t need any extra buttons or anything, just scroll wheel and left and right click. Rather not break the bank as I just spent $100 on a mechanical keyboard.
