Problem with Internet with AsRock Motherboard

I have a very light understanding for computer building. Most of what i know is from reading articles or experience with my computer (this is the first I've built). So things i say may be completely wrong

I recently changed out my motherboard for another that had more slots for memory.
The new motherboard i got is the AsRock A770DE+ (amd770 + SB710 chipsets)

Everything is great except the internet

My household gets 30mbps from Road Runner
- i know the problem is not internet source (the main computer gets full 30 mbps)
- i know the problem is not the router (multiple other laptops have received 25 mbps at the same time)

Currently according to speedtest.net i am getting 10mbps but the internet dies quite often

With my old motherboard, i used Trendnet Wireless N PCI Adapter to connect to the internet (back then we only received 5 mbps) and it received the full amount.

With this motherboard, when i plug in PCI wireless adapter, the system either doesnt recognize the card (if only for a few seconds and yes installed correct drivers) OR the system does not recognize any sata ports and therefore cannot boot (WTF!!!)

So what I've done to compensate for that is:

1. use usb wireless internet adapters
- i have both a TP-Link TL-WN722N and a Trendnet TEW-664UB
- I've found with these that i can get the best connection when i use both at the same time (one on the lower and one on the higher broadband transmitted from the router)
- weird things i dont understand: sometimes its faster when i use only one connected to the lower broadband
--these usually gets my pc 5-7mbps each

2. use a sling blade to get a wireless ethernet cord connection (im actually borrowing this so i will have to return it soon)
- this gets my pc ANYWHERE from 0 to 15 mbps (dont know why it varies so much)

Is the onboard network adapter conflicting?

PROBLEMS:
recently i've only been able to receive less than 4mbps from all of these together
when i have only one of the three in i get around 6mbps

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW what people suggest how to fix this or what new stuff (both what would be cheapest and what would be the very best) to buy.

Did you by any chance forget to install drivers for your motherboard?

no. i installed both the cd that came with the motherboard and the windows 7 detected updates

In that case, I apologize for my inability to help much, networking in all manners is my weakest point. And that says a bit, compared to a couple other spots.

The PCI wireless card problem sounds like an old IRQ line incompatibility, although I haven't seen one for a couple of years. Usually what you'd do is switch the thing to another PCI slot.

Everything else matches a poor wireless signal. Note that the aerials in laptops are often much better than those in USB wireless adapters, as they have the whole screen to string them around.

First thing to do is test it with a real ethernet cable link, just to rule out any non-wireless problems. Then try testing with the wireless adapter very close to the router, assuming that it isn't already. If that fixes the problem, I'll post some crap about how to get a better wireless signal.

So have you tested the adapter on your old motherboard after upgrading to 30 mbps?

one adapter causes the sata to be unrecognizable and the other i've has the same problems on the previous 5mbps (it was actually a different carrier -cincinnati bell) and 30mbps with RR

edit: oh i just realized i misread the question. no i have not tested the adapter on the 30 mbps with the old motherboard. but the adapter had no problems with 5 mbps with the old motherboard and other computers have no problems with the 30mbps.
i could test it if you think that might lead to an answer

i tried using all of the slots and the same problem happened

yeah that's what i thought about usb adapters. that's why i wanted to fix PCI

i will test a real ethernet cable tomorrow and get back. but i wouldn't be able to leave the computer next to the source permanently
