I am thinking about buying a keyboard with black switches, my question is what do you think is best for FPS games, red or black, and what are good keyboards with black switches available in Canada except the steelseries ones. Thanks!

Thanks! i play cs occasionally on a red switches and its nice. I would recommend a RK9000BL edition $99 the only other keyboards usually available in stores are g6v2, black widow, possibly meka . Newegg list + Show Spoiler + ncix only has g6v2, blackwidow the others aren't worth mentioning Elitekeyboards.com $$ shipping to canada http://shopping.pchome.com.tw/ --> guide $10 shipping to US/CA + Show Spoiler + Some European web sites ones are there but expensive.

Sorry I've read a few pages into this thread but would like someones opinion. Go back one page and read it? The links in the OP explain the switches. If you give us a list of things you are going to do with your keyboard (eg SC2, a fair bit of typing and dota) then we could give a recommendation, but keep in mind that would be opinion.

Basically a good keyboard for BF3 and SC2. And yes I missed the guide link haha. Thank you..looks like a black or red switch would work perfect.

If you don't know maybe you could suggest what kind of keyboards you got, from what I read I think red switches might be ok? Thanks in advance.

No idea what switches to use (read all the guides already), I think tactile would fit me the best. It' probably a smart idea to go by what pros use so any of you got an idea what kind of keyboards they're using? Like mvp or mkp or nestea :3 If you don't know maybe you could suggest what kind of keyboards you got, from what I read I think red switches might be ok? Thanks in advance. i believe all 3 of these use dome keyboards atm, well mkp just got sponsered my thermaltake and nestea and mvp r sponsered by steelseries. So they will probably be changing eventually. It is best to do what is best for you not because a pro uses it. I would recommend a keyboard with cherry browns of if you want a louder keyboard a keyboard with cherry blues. pm me if u need more help.

Good choice, just decide if you want heavy or light switches. Most Korean pros use rubber domes (qsenn), and many pros that use mechanicals use their sponsors board, so steelseries (black) or Razer (blue). The other pros that use mechanicals are spread across the switches (red being rarest, but they are more rare anyway). So choose what you think will be good, all of them can be used to play SC2. Though the more compact designs have got some popularity in SC2 (dimaga and TT1) because the function keys are just above the number keys. So perhaps have a look at them.

Maybe the das model s, but I'm not sure if it's abailable in my country. http://www.getdigital.de. Everywhere I go I get mixed reviews about either how great or how bad this keyboard can be. To my understanding their switches are cherry black..correct me if I'm wrong? Brown or Blue, depending on whether you choose the "Ninja" one or not, that's not a secret and would take you about 10 seconds of using Google to find out. Razer has been known to make a lot of shitty hardware, which is why people recommend against it. I can't say anything about that.

They don't try to hide it but since they are more mainstream they just don't try to confuse their customers with different switch types. It is okay for around $100 but there are many alternative that are less flashy and more reliable like Rosewill and Leopold. What turned me off about Razer (and this is same for Steelseries with their big ass enter key) is the Function keys don't match up to normal keyboards. I actually use the location hotkeys so that's a big no no.
