All a keycap puller is, is simply a paper clip attached to plastic, with a nice logo on it. You can use paper clips, just bend it in a way that looks similar to the keycap pullers you see and molds well around the keycap, and you can pull off keycaps the same. Just make sure you use two, so you can stabilize both sides and not snap/pull out the spring, cuz otherwise you're going to need a soldering iron or RMA it back.

EDIT: Puller is a lot more convenient though, and made to make it a lot easier.

EDIT2: I feel like 2 strings could work too.

coins, flat head screwdrivers, butterknives... anything you can pry it off works.

Yup, just not sure if some would damage the keycaps, if you're into keeping them nice and sparkly that is.

Meh, they look ugly and are way overpriced o.O

Only worth it if you're customizing all the colors, and then only if you really care about how your keyboard looks. Otherwise I agree, get a Leopold or Filco.

Do not read the OP. Whatever you do.
Definitely just ask whatever is on your mind in the thread. OPs are for noobs.

Anyone here buy a keyboard with blank keycaps like the Leopold Otakus? Do you find it takes long to get used to it?

If you know your way around a keyboard it shouldn't be any problem. Otakus are made for people who know every key T_T;;

I have a topre and still loses. HELP!!!

My friend bought one from pchome not too long ago. The shipping from Taiwan is fucking crazy fast--only took two days. I've used it a couple times now and I can vouch for its quality.

Ace keyboard, can't wait for it to release in the US so I don't have to pay $110 for it. I believe the MSRP will be $80.

Yeah they advertised at $79.99 but I don't know how long I'd have to wait for it in the US.
I seriously went to the CM website multiple times every day for 2 weeks before I finally got it from PChome.

Even then it was $89.99 + shipping = $101 so relatively cheap for brown switches.

I just contacted the Cooler Master folks and they said that the Quickfire Rapid will be released January 1st. So not too long now. But still, kind of long.

The rep I was talking to was kind of hesitant about the the pricing for it but eventually let slip that it should be $79.99 for the red edition. I think I'm just going to wait it out.

Condor Hero, how are you liking the keyboard so far? Brown switches, right?

Okay! I ordered the MK-80 with MX Browns. Fingers crossed! 150 euros is a lot of money D:

Update, I got the keyboard. It... It's really nice. I like the font on the keys, the backlighting has many levels and looks good, the whole keyboard just feels solid, buildwise. The clicky noise is louder than rubber dome, but not that bad really. Took no getting used to.

I would recommend QPAD to others.

That is one slick board sir, damn. Is the "W" key slanted/ergonomic? Am I seeing that correctly, that's kind of interesting. How does it feel?

I have the TTesports Meka G1, big fan, absolutely recommend it if you are looking for black switches.

Yes, i've read in overclock.net forums and yes, they said exactly the same thing. These new keyboards will be available in US the first days of next year. So... we have to wait them :D!.

Personally, i prefer buy them from US instead of Taiwan only for language reasons so i'm here waiting for them :D. Also, on Geekhack forums there are some reviews about this keyboard, the general opinion is that they're a great keyboard for its price.

Why do some people prefer tenkeyless? Am I the only one who uses the numpad quite a bit? Does that extra size bother that many people

Because those people don't use the numpad and yes the numpad does take up quite a bit of space. Only reasons to have a numpad for that I can think of is for data entry and secondary hotkeys for an MMO.

Most people don't, but it's really nice to have it available for the odd time when it does prove useful. To me it just seems like you're getting less of a keyboard. Like, not a complete board.

Thats not true.... all the Numpad keys are on the tenkeyless board. With a full sized your just getting extra numbers /*-+. and enter.

I just got myself a lovely new Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja with Cherry Browns and couldn't be happier with the way the things types and feels and sounds.

I'm just a bit noob when typing and when my hands get out of position I tend to just look down at the keyboard to make the adjustment on the fly. With the letters printed on the front with this baby, its not quite as easy as it used to be =)

I just see it as an incentive to master my typing skills without having to look at the keyboard, which wastes precious time in SC2 anyway.

BTW that Corsair looks amazing!
