At least here in sweden I do know they exist somewhere but you need to be a bit lucky to stumble upon one. Though I guess they could have become more common since the last time I checked or maybe you can find them online more easily now.

I mean, I just use something flat to lever out one key and pull the rest with my fingers. Would this damage the switches on a mechanical? think of it like this, the switch goes in to the keycap. If you tried to lever it out, it could snap the switch. The key puller works like this, it goes over the key and pulls up so there is no risk of snapping it unless you do something very very wrong.

You are out about 100 bucks unless you can find a replacement somewhere and know how to solider it down. I would honestly recommend getting a puller. You should be fine as long as you pull it up straight and not off to one side, I've taken out and cleaned my whole board like that several times. You just have to be careful. Ofc you'd be safe with a puller but it's not necessary per se. You just have to be careful to pull out the whole cap at once and not one side at a time.

You get no godly powers until you unlock the topre key....... On December 08 2011 06:30 Zzoram wrote: Anyone here buy a keyboard with blank keycaps like the Leopold Otakus? Do you find it takes long to get used to it? If you know your way around a keyboard it shouldn't be any problem. Otakus are made for people who know every key T_T;;

Well I never look at my keys no matter what I'm doing so as long as you can properly feel the F and J keys you should be fine, of course if you can't touch type you should learn that first before buying a keyboard with empty keycaps. By the way I changed the order as the new MK-Keyboards came out <_< I would have bought MK-50 but my dad said he could buy MK-85 for my christmas present so actually as I ended up getting that one for free I just decided that it might be fun to try it out.

EDIT: Puller is a lot more convenient though, and made to make it a lot easier. EDIT2: I feel like 2 strings could work too.
