Erm sorry but I strongly disagree with this, and I've got a 6gv2. Black switches are so awkward to play sc2 on, in say a long macro game 20-30mins you're hand actually start getting really tired because pressing keys do require quite some force to press. Blue switches are just so soft to type on and the clicky sound they make is awsome. Don't buy black switches for gaming!
I dont get tired AT ALL when playing 40+ mins game on cherry mx black. I love them. And guess what, IdrA, demuslim etc use cherry mx black.
But its all personal preferance. I've used cherry mx blue and the sound made me crazy and the double tapping was terrible RTS = double tap, Cherry mx black = THE double tapping switch!

Does the red edition only come with red switches? Or can I get blue switches with the red-edition keyboard design?
I believe only red switches are available in the red edition design. If you don't want to wait for the keyboard you can order it from PCHome, a Taiwanese website that ships worldwide, for around $100 USD. I've heard they ship extremely quickly, as fast as 2 days to the US for $10.
From reviews I've seen, it's a very good keyboard. The only complaints are usually the excessive branding on the keyboard. I'll likely be buying one in the next month or so.

If you feel tired using mechanical switches, it's because you bottom them out whenever you press them. The keys will register when you press them halfway through.

Where could I possibly get a full finnish layout white blank keycap set for my Filco? :/

Should I choose tactile action, click action or linear action for gaming? It doesn't say what kind of switches it is.

Tactile is brown, click is blue and linear is mostly black and sometimes red

hey guys. I'm thinking of buying the Steelseries 7g (other keyboards are not an option, since i would probably pay around 300$ for other keyboards due to the fact that croatia is not in the eu and I would end up paying around 22% of the price in taxes + 40% of the price for customs + 50$ of shipping)
anyway, i'm wondering (if anyone knows) how big is the wrist rest of the 7g compared to the razer goliathus extended edition? Will the wrist rest be too big and therefore wobbly? I kind of like the idea of having my whole desk cloth padded, but I'm just gonna get a steelseries QCK XL or something if the 7g wrist rest is too big for the goliathus extended.
oh, yeah, I also have an option of getting the zowie celeritas (about 10$ more expensive than the 7g), so if anyone has something to say on the account of 7g vs zowie celeritas, shoot.
thx

the 7g is placed into the keyboard rest. Its a cut out that fits the keyboard inside it, so there's no wobbling. 7g vs celeritas is a coin flip, but Q_Q for you the celeritas is cheaper than the 7g in the states. I personally would just get a g6v2, its a 7g without all the gold plated shit (not really needed) and without the wristwrest. You will save yourself more money.

Idn why people are saying Blacks are bad for gaming, they are the easiest to press multiple times in a row which is something i really appreciate. If I'm not mistaken while the MX blacks require the most force they also have the small travel distance to register a keystroke. I barely press my keys when I'm playing on them and have absolutely never gotten tired.
Keyboard: TTesports MekaG1 (same baord white ra uses ^^)

Just bought Razer Blackwidow Ultimate. I'm content so far. Now let's see how the keyboard functions in the long run
|
yeah, i wanted 6gv2 but it hasn't been available here for some months now and it seems it won't be for quite some time :S
anyhow, i was thinking about the wobbling of the entire keyboard rest, googled for the size and the entire keyboard rest is a few inches wider (keyboard rest is around 320cm, the goliathus is like 295 at it's widest areas, which means about 285-290cm wide for the keyboard designed area of the pad) :/

Black Switches have never given me a problem for SC2 or BF3 or LoL for that matter. The switches are comfortable and they go off as you push them.
If you get tired after a 40min sc2 match from pushing keyboard switches, then you're probably overweight and out of shape to begin with.

it's probably because blacks are linear switches. if you have never used such a keyboard before, it definitely feels very different as it doesnt click when you register a key press

I thought they stopped making Filcos?
I just got myself a Leopold with MX Browns. Absolute dream to type on, fastest of the mechanical switches that i've tried (Blues and Blacks)

Hey guys, does anyone use a "noppoo choc mini mechanical keyboard"? i've seen them on E-bay and they look awesome... there are reds, blacks, browns and blues switches variants.
Also you can read more about noppo here. Pretty good price too.

Nope they still make them, in fact this year Filco came out with some of the coolest keyboards. Elitekeyboards, the main U.S. distributor(at the time) stopped selling them because they could not get enough supply to keep up with the demand. Now they are sold on Amazon in the US.
