I'm probably gonna grab the Quick Fire Rapid when some store here starts to sell it. The black switches that I am currently using seem just bit too heavy to actuate, so reds are probably going to address the issue.

I've had my choc mini since february, i went with the brown switches too.
I absolutely love this keyboard, though i can't compare it to other mechanical keyboards because this is the only one i have used.

If you want to know about it in a lot more detail head over to geekhack and read this review.

From what i have read, this review looks at the first version of the choc mini to go on sale, since then there has been a few tweaks. My keyboard for instance no longer has different coloured scroll/num/switch lock keys, they are the same colour as other keys.

And from a more recent review i read, i forget where, but these keyboards are now available with a white font instead of the chocolate brown. Which makes sense if u need to look at the keyvoard when you type as in lower light the chocolate colour is hard to read.

I really enjoy playing with this keyboard, and find it a joy when it comes to typing too.

I just received my 6gv2 yesterday, had a casual rubberdome before.

And i have EU/german layout, for anyone searching for it and not finding it....

Well, its a completly new feeling to me, never typed on a mechanical before. I wanted to have black switches, cause i thought they would not be as "hard" to press as ma previous keys (rubberdomes). But these black ones are actually pretty stiff and not THAT easy to press as i expected.

But i think, i'll get used to hit (LOL, as i was writing the word "i'll", i just found out that the ' is not where it was on my rubberdome keybard :D another new thing )....yeah well, i'll get used to it, cause its another feeling, kinda smoother and more "advanced"
And i payed 70 euros and all the pros have mechs, so i HAVe to get used to it .... joke

I've had the ttesports meka g1 for a month, but I really don't like the black keys. Will probably sell it and get a Das Keyboard. Typed on a BlackWidow and love the way the blue keys feel.

yeah a large part of it just has to do with getting used to not bottoming out the black keys, since it's linear it's easier. But the non-linear switch types (blue/brown) require less force to actuate in general.

Yes

But I think it will actually "cost" more strength and controlled finger movement to find out the releasing point of this keys After that the typing will get easier

But as i said, i am not unhappy with buying this keyboard, its just a new situation to get used to

On blues and browns, maybe, but on linear keys I've always felt like it's just a matter of learning when to let up; you're not spending energy typing lighter, are you?

i used to have the blackwidow ultimate by razer but the enormous loud clicking of the mx blues was very penetrating to my ears. i read before the purchase about the noise in reviews but i underestimated it =/.

sooo
i bought a 6gv2 by steelseries instead! and i like it pretty much. the only thing i can complain about is the height of the keyboard, to which im not yet used to. still searching for a resting spot for my thumb ^^

Did you like the feel of the blues? Cause if you did you might want to try browns, they feel like blues (less pronounced though) but without the noise.

It's very good. You won't be dissapointed. The shift and capslock/enter keys feel a little different than teh other keys, but that's the only quirk I've noticed with the board.

What's nice is you can buy the PBT caps separate and still only pay $30.

Hi there! I have a question about the different models of Ducky boards. I if you go to Ducky's site there are quite a few keyboards. There seems to be three categories though: $115, $110, and $80. From what I can tell the $110 boards have PBT key caps, and then I just don't see the difference between the $110 boards and the $80 boards.. They both seem to be the overclock.net edition, and they don't seem to have any different features listed when I look at their details. Why the price difference?

Reds are more expensive; tenkeyless; ABS caps are cheaper than PBT; earlier models.

Anyone get hands on with the New Corsair Vengeance Keyboards? I was going to buy a Mionix Zibal 60 but it seems to be forever until a Canadian retailer is getting one. I know the F keys and macro keys are not fully mechanical. I was just wondering if the keyboard needs to have the backlight manually turned on. It seems to be a recurring thing (user activated) with mechanical keyboards with backlights, I just want it to turn on by itself on POST. It's not a deal breaker but it's something I would like a lot since I'm lazy.

the click is the best sound imaginable ^_^

although to be honest I would have bought a das if I hadn't got my blackwidow for $50

Just got my new Leopold tenkeyless with red switches to go with my Filco with browns. Omggg I fucking love these switches!! This was the switch type I wanted back when I bought my Filco, but they were neigh impossible to find at the time. Seriously, playing Starcraft on this thing is so much fun! I don't even hear myself pressing the keys since I've gotten used to where the actuation point would be using my Filco. I can definitely understand why reds are considered the best switch type for gaming, and I would say for RTS's especially.

If anyone is looking to get a new board, I would highly recommend looking into EliteKeyboards.com. They currently have basically any combo of fullsized or tenkeyless boards with any cherry MX switch type (even reds and clears!!). Also they're currently stocking all the boards in white as well as the usual black!

I picked up a white tenkeyless Leo with red switches too. Love it.

I used to have one with blue switches. It's a fun little keyboard with a very good full-featured compact layout. My only gripe was that Home and End are on the function layer.

So I was using a Lycosa because I was dumb enough to believe it when Razer said they'd fixed the issues they had. Thankfully, it did me a favor and fell apart a couple of days ago, so my wife let me buy a new keyboard.

6GV2. A million times better, and that's without even being used to it yet. Although the position of the " \ " key is kind of annoying. I don't think I'll ever use a rubber dome again. I hadn't even realized how much I missed a real keyboard for gaming.

And it has the advantage of being a viable home defense weapon too. This thing is solid.

i hoped you watched the video where steelseries ran over their 6GV2 before plugging it back in and it worked
