The 2kro stuff is also not for all keys. It is only the worst case. I do not know how the different manufacturers setup the keys that can be pressed together, but with at least some 2kro keyboards when playing an FPS, you can press two of the W-A-S-D keys, and a third key for weapon switching or something, and Space Bar for jumping as a fourth key, and it works.

This. 2KRO does not apply to certain groups of keys which are likely to be pressed more than 2 at a time, and only affects keys not in these clusters. I saw a pic somewhere that outlines these groups but unfortunately couldn't find it again.

It depends on the keyboard
Play around here to see how your keyboard does.

Guys,,, I'm kinda stuck on deciding what Mechanical Keyboard I should get. I have 3 options : Razer Blackwidow Stealth, Zowie Celeritas, and Filco Majestouch (all of them are brown switches)... which of these three do you think is better ?

Zowie has a endorsement from Flash on their website.

Filco's come in pink.

Razer Blackwidow Stealth is "for gamers who favor silent strikes from the shadow and meticulous pwnage".

Simple now?

I have an Nkro kb so it doesn't really affect me. Zowie's prolly cheaper so I'd go with that, but if price weren't a factor I'd go with the filco for sure.

Filco makes a sturdier board, but I believe Zowie has the best value board on the market still. Consult the OP.l

I'm getting a razer blackwidow ultimate stealth edition
(Cherry mx brown.) Anyone got one and can give me a brief description how it is? Cheap razer quality or good? Good feel? Good for RTS? Macro keys giving a bad experience because they are in the way?
Thanks

Quality wise its better than razers other products, worse than most other mechanicals. Fine for rts, don't know what bad would be really. Feel is personal preference, most do like mechanicals though. Macro keys depend on the user, what matters more may be that the f row is shifted slightly which may take some getting used to if you use them alot for camera control or w/e.

New Rosewill keyboards are in, brown, black and red.

my opinions, RK-9000RE is a little steep for the price @ $129+ shipping.... seeing as I can get a leopold for $109 and $118.50 w/ shipping and a ducky w/ reds for roughly same price as the leopold I would say unless you cant get a leopold/ducky then buy the Rosewill.... RK-9000/BL/BR are priced fairly with other boards of same switch type. I would of really liked to see Rosewill price their boards competitively considering reds are getting much more popular. You can get some Blue and Brown switched boards for cheaper than rosewill. But Rosewill is a good brand.

RK-9000/BL/BR/RE

T_T disappointed with red switch price still T_T

Can anyone tell me if brown switches are too loud for a college dorm environment with sleeping roommates? Looking at the newly released RK-9000RE cherry browns the poster above linked.

Please let me know! Thanks

Is this a pretty good keyboard? It's pretty cheap and I know Ducky is a good brand. Looking mainly for gaming and I want TKL because of how my desk is I need it.

Depends on if you bottom out your keys and how deep sleepers your roommates are. I bottom up and it doesn't bother my roommate but he's a pretty deep sleeper. If you don't bottom out it'll be ok for sure, if you don't want to learn it may be questionable and you may want to go for linear (black/red) switches instead.

The brown switches are pretty much silent if you do not bottom out on the keys. You can activate a key without anyone hearing it, if you are careful. If you hammer on the keys, the keyboard can get pretty loud. Personally, I can type without bottoming out on my keyboard, but if I am playing, I will hammer on the keys. I think you also have to think about your mouse clicks if you are worrying about sleeping roommates. The clicks produced by my Razer Abyssus seem to be as loud as the click produced by the Cherry blue switches, and how loud bottoming out on the keys is depends on how hard you hit the keys and can be much softer than mouse clicks.

chances are you will bottom out and its still fairly loud. I would stick with rubberdome in a dorm type of enviroment. My opinion. Even during starcraft I'll start out without bottoming out the keys and 5 mins in thats all you hear when playing.

If you gotta go mechanical linear switches are probably the better option, especially the blacks, cause the increasing force required to hold the key down further means that you'd be more likely to teach yourself to not bottom out since it requires less force anyway.

If you are playing games there might be some issues as it's harder to control the key presses then. Maybe use the mech board during the day and use a cheaper rubber board during nights.

Unfortunatly the only retailer that I have found for the RK9000s has been through newegg unless that has changed in the last few days.
