Noppoo Choc Mini fits that description really well.
It has Cherry Red Keys, which are the best for double tapping (lowest force required for activation plus non clicky). And the function keys are directly above the numbers which makes hotkeying camera spots very simple for people without big hands like an NBA player.
Its also generally under $100.
If he has been using nothing but membrane keyboards, he is going to feel really silly when he first uses it, like he has been pounding on his keyboard like a barbarian his whole life. Thats how I felt.

There are a lot of mechanical keyboards around the €70 mark on amazon. However a lot of them use their own (stupid) keyboard layout, so make sure you get one with a standard layout. I have a qpad mk-50 and I'm very happy with it.

It doesn't look like. It IS an amateur Web 1.0 bbs now.
I just took my Wikis and left that disaster.

Normally, what people do is: Ask if KB is good -> Get answer -> Buy based on answer
Still, the Zowie products are good, so you should be satisfied.

Ive read in a couple places that the spacebar on the Zowie Celeritas sticks alot. Is this true TL?

Thought I'd just mention that the keys on the Rosewill are shallower than on my other keyboards.

Heya, I bought zowie celeritas last xmas and i had the sticky spacebar issue, however its a problem within a single key not a keyboard, so i've written an contact email about the issue and after a month a brand new spacebar have arrived from zowie ( did not have to pay for anything, nor shipping) and ever since then there be no issues.
<3 zowie celeritas, however i still think 6G from steelseries has better feeling, however i rank celeritas above.

They are? They USED to be same as Filcos. What the asians and GeekWhackers call "OEM Style".

Hey everyone ! Cheers for the good thread ! I have a question. Does anyone from Europe know where they sell 6GV2 with red switches and ship to all parts of Europe ? I could only find one at maxfps.se but they only ship to Sweden :S
|
Wouldn't it be easier to find a retailer that ships to your specific country than trying to find one that ships to all of europe?

Depending on your country the ss will be hard to get. Ull have to consider other options like filco or Leopold.

If you're going to do a LOT of writing I would vouch for browns. I don't like typing on reds, but that's kind of anecdotal. Browns are decent for double tapping for sure, and I love typing on them.

6Gv2 Go keyboard to go to coming from a memebrane keyboard? Just SC2.

What do you people think about mx reds for sc2? I have just bought a mechanical keyboard with reds and Im a bit dissapointed. The double tapping to change between control groups its quite hard since the keys are so soft.

It takes time getting used to. It took me 2 days to get used to the required soft pressure coming from blues user.

U'll need a few days to get used to the switch (dbl meaning there.) Reds have the fastest dbl tap in the game.
