But you can buy colored keys from wasd, and fit them on a 6gv2, right? I think I'm gonna go for Black switches anyway, as I play a lot of different games and type a lot. All in all, they sound to be the best fit for me.

Do either of them have wrist rests?

This is actually a very important issue. At least, I found it to be so.

First of all, you should consider it a "palm rest" not "wrist rest" - look up some ergonomics, putting pressure on the wrists is bad bad.

I recently bought a Noppoo Choc Mini 84 with Cherry Reds and I noticed two things that either I missed or none of the mech keyboard guides mentioned:

1) 4mm to bottom is actually really deep. Most membrane keyboards are about 3.5mm or less, and laptop keyboards which I was used to are even less. I installed some rubber dampeners from wasdkeyboards.com and I like it much better now
2) The keyboard itself is a bit taller than "regular" keyboards, leaving my palms at an upper angle and putting a bit of strain on my wrists (and tension in my forearm muscles). I need a palm-rest but it doesn't (and many mech keyboards don't) have the option of a detachable one.
The answers to most of your Tech Support questions are in the OP. That's why you're not getting a reply. It's been answered before. Read the OP.

Yeh it should fit. But be careful with the stabilised keys (space bar etc)

Blacks are good, I like my blues better for typing and SC2 and use my blacks for lower APM games. No wrist rest, and I don't use them so can't help you there.

But Wabbit raises a good point, the keys on both boards are quite tall and have a longer travel compared to most rubber dome keyboards.

I've used a Logitech G15 (v1) for 6 years and I'm a bit worried about a switch as I have always used the palm rest. I thought the 7G would be pretty good for me in that regard, even though the palm rest there seems almost too big.

Blacks are good, I like my blues better for typing and SC2 and use my blacks for lower APM games.

From what I've read the blue ones aren't very good for FPS games, and I play MMO or FPS games most of all, and blacks seems like the best choice. Would you agree with my conclusion?

Yeh definitely, I find the blues too light, loud and sometimes hard to double tap in lower APM games. I use my blacks for HoN and FPS and find it much better.

Blacks aren't bad to type on either.

No leopolds keys will definatly outlast the filcos, filcos use a shitty coating on their keys, and are not lazer etched... So the imprinting will not wear. a buddy of mine has a filco and he spams a ton, numbers 1-5 are just about gone, and A and S are completly worn off. And I have had my leopold for mayube 6 months longer than he has had his. I can take side by side pictures... Also just the physical weight of the leopold is noticably heavier. To me that just means more quality and thicker plastics if you ask me. It just feel more stalkier and sturdier... Also if you do choose to use the legs on the either board. The Leopold will not budge whatsoever. and the filco will move around if you put the legs up. Thats big for me. Also to save 40 bucks, for a better quality product... is another bonus... And the creator of the Leopold, did not just want to make a shittier version of a filco, he wanted to surpass what he already had made, he fixed all the flaws he disignd in the filco and fixed them. Thats the main reason I went with Leopold too... And the keycap issue is a huge turn off. Yeah the keycap maybe made of the same material... but its how they were made that makes a world of a difference. My leopold is 9 months old, and even my S,A keys are not even shiney yet. This is after hundreds of hours of SC2 and spamming like a mother fucker. My buddies 3 month old filco are already worn, and is on the new Double Shot key group buy on geek hack because of it. I really dont think if you spend that kind of money on a keyboard you shouldnt have shiney ass keys after 3 months, doesnt matter how much you use them.

If you want shiney keys(really poor quality keys, yeah the leopold is made out of abs, but they are at least made to be more durable, even look at ripsters post about the filco keycaps. he says a "new born without teeth can litterly chew them up lol), loud loud ping and want to spend the extra 40 bones... get the filco.

If u want a kick ass 1 year warenty... quality that i personally think when it comes to durability (without having to mod) get the leopold. Also there is no ping on the Leopold, I can fucking smash teh fuck out of my keys and u cant hear shit. Im willing to even make a recording of my mic right next to my keyboard to show u there isnt a ping.... If you want to hear ping, youtube is FULL of Ping infested filcos.

Im not a leopold fan boy, but just saying if you want to save 40 bucks, and Have your keyboard in 2 days get a leopold. If you wanna order Overseas (if you are in the USA) go nuts.. (amazon is currently out of stock, and i believe are not getting more for a couple of months) then get the filco my friends.

Well you're sure acting like a fanboy, and stating a lot of opinion as fact. The Filco's build quality is famously outstanding. Mine stays put on my desk. Your Leo may not ping, but some of them do. It's been observed and posted about at geekhack. Amazon actually does have Filcos in stock right now. They were out of stock for a few weeks, and will be again soon. You're right about the Leo's lasered keys being better, but for me this was moot as I was planning from the start to put a doubleshot set on.

I'm just trying to get accurate info out on this thread so people can make informed decisions, not looking to get into a flame war with you. Please stop posting contemptuous, incendiary remarks. The Leopold is a fabulous keyboard, but for *me*, the Filco was the best choice (and only cost $30 more).

Most WASD caps should fit. Not sure about the spacebar (Filco and Leopold spacebars are incompatible, for example (WASD sells Filco-style spacebars)). Also, I don't think WASD stocks the large, J-shaped Enter caps, or the shorter right-side Shifts.

Just saying not everyone is going to have the extra 70+ to get a set of double shot keys, to replace their worn down filco keys. So I am stating what I have personally seen. You my friend are only stating opinions you have seen on Geekhack without seeing both keyboard in real life and actually trying each one out. half the people on their are filco fan boys, and OCN are Ducky fan boys. They mostly knock leopolds on having "Mushy" stabalizers. which side by side, they feel the exact same. The only difference is the sound, the leopold have a more Dull thud, most likely do to the thicker keycaps.

and the 30 dollar differnce is huge, as most people on here if they were anything like me when I was in college, living off of a study loan. So every dollar they save counts.

If I didnt get the leopold my second choice would have been the Noppo Choc Mini, mainly because of its small footprint and POM keys, thats are nearly industructable from what I heard, they are prolly the best "stock" keys that come with any keyboard on the market. Except for the tanks that use to be available in the 80s.

Anyways with that said.... I recently modded my Cherry Browns, into Ergo Clears (Clear stem, brown spring) and ohhhh baby what a difference. To be honest Browns when typing fast you can not feel the tactilness whatsoever. So adding that more of a bump from the clears, I can actually feel it now. Basically they feel like blues, but with the quietness of browns. Browns are pretty quiet if you can touch type (which takes a long time if you are coming from a membrane switch). Really it all comes down to what kind of switch you like....

Reds are the new browns it seems (about a year ago everyone was on the brown switch craze)
and Clears/ergo clears are the new hipster. ( I bet in 6 months once everyone gets bored of reds, clears will be the new red)
your choice.

Basically the trend seems to be, whatever is the most rare switch is the new most popular and highest in demand.

Black- Easiest and cheapest to get (lowest in demand)
Blue-Easy and cheap to get (low demand)
Brown-Average priced and now getting easier to get (average)
Clear- (good luck finding them, people are stealing switches and stems off of cherry boards and or buying those ugly decks)
red- getting easier now to get, and realitivly cheap now that Elite Keyboard carries them

I have tried a Leopold in real life. It's a fantastic keyboard. I still prefer the Filco, for the reasons I stated in my original Filco/Leo post. I'm not saying anything absolute about which is better. There are tradeoffs with both.

and the 30 dollar differnce is huge, as most people on here if they were anything like me when I was in college, living off of a study loan. So every dollar they save counts.

Indeed. This is one of the tradeoffs. I only mentioned $30 because you said it was $40.
Also, I got a doubleshot set for $25 on GH the other day. Average price for a used set is something like $40. New-in-box sets can be had for $80, but that is nuts.

Yup, I recently modded two ebay boards to ergo clears and ghetto reds. Really like both, though I think I will ultimately prefer the clears.

The new Rosewill will be available in red too. Reds were once really hard to find. Hopefully clears will make a similar comeback at some point.

The blue version's MSRP is still $99. No word yet on pricing for the blacks, browns, and reds, though the first link sort of suggests they might be more.

Wow... think of how easy it would be to clean those. I've never fantasized about cleaning a keyboard before...

I know, such a great idea.
And if those prices are right, 110 for an aluminium keyboard with a wrist rest is epic.

Though im not sure that I like those raised red keys

anyone know where (US website) I can get some black on white PBT key pads on my DAS?

WASD seems way too expensive and geekhack GB takes too long.

I found some engraved white on eBay, but I would like my letters to show in a more darker fashion.

I just got my das professional a few days ago and I have to say its been amazing so far

I need to get out of the habit of using my keyboard as a drum set though lol. It was fine when I was pounding on $10 throwaways, but I can tell it probably isn't all that good for the board.

Its so tempting though, because the das sounds so good t.t

The WASD keyset has ABS keycaps and they are simply engraved, so the lettering is next to invisible.

Since you are not planning to spend too much money and want good contrast, you're probably best off with printed keys. These for example:

Yup that's basically what I'm looking for, but is that normal pricing? Jeez $60 for just keycaps.. I might as well customize a whole board from wasd/remove keyboard at that price.

Yeah, keycaps are expensive. The thing is, these things are pure luxury. There is no need for them, it's just to pimp out your keyboard.

I went for a customized keycap set from WASD. It will allow me to try out how I like engraved keys, and my keyboard will hopefully look great. I was kinda kicking myself when I finally placed my order for €75,00 but yeah.. There are more expensive hobbies out there.
