EPTWarnings : changing any things on your computers or on your variables.txt , is on your own risks , I won't take any responsabilities for you !
My computer : 17" for the screen , windows xp , and nvidia video card
What you can change , what you can't change ( after my many tries )
You can change you " windowed " resolution
You can NOT change your " full screen windowed " or your " fullscreen " resolution
( for the 800x600 and 640x480 resolution i mean )
First : 800x600
In my variables.txt file I change 4 settings but i think it changes thing only for the 640x480 resoltuon
However : change width and windowwidth at 800 and height windowheigt at 600
Launch your game , you may not notice any differences whatever are your options
Now turn your game on " windowed " mode , still nothing
Change your WINDOWS resolution and choose the " 800x600 " resolution , you might now be able to play at starcraft II in 800x600 windowed mode
The " cursor " don't seem to bug at this resolution
This resolution is good for people with old computers but can't be low enough so now the second ( what i was seeking , what i found , what i'm proud , what will maybe give me the opportunity to finally play with 30 fps , and 15 in battle instead of 15 and 0 in battle fps =) )
Second : 640x480 !!!!
The steps are the same at before but i will rewrite them don't panic.
Windows xp ( mine ) don't offer me the 640x480 resolution and when I try to pur it with my Nvidia Control Panel , the resolution seems " tolerate " by my computer but i can't choose it
So I downloaded PowerStrip ( which is in english , free , but only 30 free days , offer , i will try to find another one later )
Note : NOW change your variables.txt file SEEMS important because the " cursor " won't be at the good " size " if you don't change anything ( in my case )
So variables.txt what i change ( maybe some are not important but it works this way )
height = 480
windowedheight = 480
windowedwidth = 640
width = 640
Now launch your game go into options , change to " windowed mode "
Switch to windows to put your new 640x480 resolution ( if you dind't already do it )
and enjoy your new starcraft II windowed 640x480 resolution mode

I don't know if those stuffs work on windows vista and seven , or mac , or linux
I don't know if those stuffs work with higher resolution try it if you wan't =)
