but I get this error message when I try to install the drivers:
"Failed to install one of the core components which may affect driver functionality. The most recent driver that worked will now be restored."
Any ideas?

So I bought a new PC and only have an SSD as storage, no HDD (I built it myself). So I installed Windows 8 on it. How do I make another partition? And what is the point of making another partition since I only have this SSD as storage? Isn't the point of making partitions for backing up data?

Partitions is not to backup data.. if your SSD dies, you lose access to both partitions. Thanks for the reply. So one partition (partition 1) has only Windows 8 and the other partition (partition 2) only has other files like games, movies, word documents, etc? Is that how it works. And whenever I need to reinstall windows, it will only wipe out data on partition 1?

I've also got a question in regards to free anti-spyware/malware programs. Which one is the best at the moment? I heard that Malwarebytes is the best and that Adaware is now crap. Is this true? So is Malwarebytes the best free anti-spyware/malware program?

- Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - CCleaner - antivirus (using NOD32, but it's not free - they're tons of good antiviruses. Check this reports, it may help you find the one for you: http://www.av-test.org/en/home/

![]() Now since you can't physically delete an HDD, I'm pretty sure that I didn't kill it. But I went and messed up something that's beyond formatting and deleting / managing partitions. I'm currently using testdisk to try to fix things, so maybe I'll fix it through that? other suggestions? E: lol fixed i used testdisk as a program to wipe the drive really hard or something. there was a delete function that apparently does this by writing 0s everywhere. then you could use windows to create another partition. heheh i fixed something.

I didnt/dont find any difference by playing sc2, everything feels very smoothly except mass lings/banleings (in both cases). If there is no reason then I stay on 1000rpm because I can hear 1200rpm noise.

If there is no reason then I stay on 1000rpm because I can hear 1200rpm noise. Do you see how to configure it so it's not a fixed speed, instead dynamic and ramping up with increased temperatures recorded by the sensor? If the BIOS settings for that are not good enough, there's likely a Windows program for that on the website for the motherboard in the support/download section. You could try to set up a fan curve where speed ramps up towards 70 C or so, where everything about that part of the curve is still comfortable with regards to noise for you. You then let things flip out and get annoying towards 90 C. something like this: + Show Spoiler + ![]() Those 70 C and 90 C numbers I mentioned are for Intel CPUs and about what the sensors inside the cores record. The motherboard does not use those numbers. It has its own sensor somewhere under the CPU. You might want to see how the numbers compare to each other as the motherboard might see for example something like 65 C while the CPU cores are really at 85 C.

target fan speed: level 5/9 =1000rpm target cpu temperature: (50°C/122°F) In other words: If temperatur hits 50°C, then cpu-fan speed climbs from 5/9 to 9/9 (1800rpm). If it's not 50°C anymore, back to 5/9 speed. Edit: Ok, thank you. It's a gforce gtx 460 OC 1GB.
