So I need to get a wifi card for my desktop since I will be moving out and my new place has wifi and I won't be plugged directly into the modem anymore. What wifi card would you reccomend. I honestly have no clue what I need to know and can post my hardware specs if needed.

I have a TP-Link TL-WN851ND Wireless N Dual Antenna Network Adapter Card (yes I C+P'd that) and it works very well. I bought it for $20 but you might be able to find cheaper. You might also want to consider USB wireless adapters in case you don't feel comfortable adding a new piece of hardware to your computer.

As most of you surely know steam has introduced trading cards games

http://steamcommunity.com/tradingcards/

now u see every-time u receive a card for any reason, like play any game, get a new card and this green things always flashes telling me i got new stuff that i absolutely don't care about.

Now I Fucking Hate This.

Is there anyway to make it so it blocks all card sent, or to hide if i get new ones so i don't have that flashing green thing always popping.

Thanks in advance.

Not really a Videogame related question, but we. A few of the keys on my laptop have seemed to stop working rather suddenly. For a couple of days I had to push the key down hard, or several times, and today a couple of them stopped working altogether. I was wondering what you guys think the issue might be, and how to fix it.

Hey... I have a samsung series 7 chronos that for some reason (in the past it was fine) has decided it doesn't want to boost over 1200 mhz, even while gaming. It is set to "high performance" and CPU state max is 100%, so I dont know what's happening. It's not throttling, because it's chilling at like 70 celsius even while gaming... does anybody know why or what it could be?

Edit: I'm an idiot... silent mode was on, which has no indication

Does anyone know of any good overheating programs to cool your CPU (Laptop), and I was just wondering if air cans are actually helpful in removing dust and improving performance/cooling your computer down

Programs don't help dissipate heat, you can use them to throttle performance but that's sort of stupid. Yes, compressed air is the best way to remove dust.

Although there aren't programs that cool your CPU directly, some can give you access to your computer's fan(s). (i.e., the ability to max out the rpm whenever you want)

Speedfan is a popular application for this.

Various alternatives exist with varying degrees of functionality.

Also, compressed air does help remove dust, but be very careful when opening your case if you are not confident.

Do you guys know of any virus's that double click after you click once, and randomly write words like murica, lord of the rings or blabla? It also seems to turn itself off(?) randomly, MSE and malwarebytes couldn't find anything, and I don't know what to do.

My hard drive failed. I can't boot. I get errors like "ntldr missing" and "disk error" and it can't even detect my HD sometimes. What are my options now?

Update to the above post, it seems to try to find somewhere to write, and then repeat things that have been typed on the computer, it doesn't show up on processes and applications(I tried going all the way down to 0 processes, other than mandatory stuff).

taldarimAltar - That could be a software issue, or your HD actually failed. What makes you think it's the HD? Has it been "clicking"? "NTLDR missing" usually is not, but sounds like the HD is going bad.

Do you have a second computer?
If you do, can burn http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ on a CD and boot of it to run tests.

Desktop/Laptop Model #? If a built, Motherboard model? How old is it? (The HD could be under warranty)

Yes, although it does not look like you ran it as administrator -

I do not see anything suspicious showing though that sticks out, besides useless O4/Startup programs.

I recommend you boot into safe mode w/networking (restart your machine, keep taping f8 every second when the screeen goes back - go to Safe mode - and run Malwarebytes from there)

Do you have any wireless devices? I would resync them as well.

I am ashamed of my incompetence with software, but how would safe mode affect malewarebytes? also is it idiocy to consider reformatting the pc? and should/how can I get rid fo the "useless" O4/starting programs, thank you for helping me btw <3

taldarimAltar - That could be a software issue, or your HD actually failed.

About 2 weeks ago, a pop up warned me that my hard drive was in bad condition or failing, I ran chkdsk and
hethe problem disappeared. But my computer felt slower starting up and padding games. I built my pc, using a asrock h61m u3s3 with Hitachi HD. About a year old but don't think I have warranty. What I'm more concerned about is my data and the ability to actually get it running. I'd like to do all I can at home before taking it to a shop. I'll try booting it with the CD thanks for the help
