The first one is for my girlfirend will be used for scientific computation (that will execute multithreaded programs that sometimes take days to finish) and for bureautic / internet. She wont play games at all on it. requirement : - very powerfull multicore cpu (but it won't get overclocked) - decent ssd for comfortable bureautic but nothing more - good quality case - 13' or 14' - light weight - max budget 1200€ but i think we should get quite lower thant that things that are not needed: - good graphics - hdd (unless the ssd is under 100 go) - windows license (it will run on ubuntu) - dvd/blueray reader The Second is for me, it will be used for work (it need to be able to handle 20 firefox tab + photoshop + phpstorm ide + thunderbird + ...) so i'd say a middle range multicore cpu + 8 gigs of rams. it need to be decent for gaming but nothing more requirement : - multicore cpu - 8 gigs ram - decent ssd - decent hdd (or hybrid maybe ?) - good quality case - 13' or 14' - light weight - windows 8 license - max budget i'd say 1000€ if it can't be helped but money is a real concern for me things that are not needed: - dvd/blueray reader I am looking for the best deals possible Thx for the help ! ps : Oh and my girlfriend should be in USA soon, is it cheaper there than europe ?

I dunno what you should get, but have a look at notebookcheck they do the best reviews I have seen. Also with laptops, lightness and thickness come at a price premium and also means the laptop will usually have a low voltage (less powerful) cpu.

Disabling the firewall doesn't do anything, nor does restore default settings force the popup for some reason.

I'm trying to install a game on my SSD drive but I don't have enough space for it. I looked on my harddrive to find some stuff that I could delete and here is the issue I run into. The SSD drive is my main drive. It has windows 7 on it. When I check the size of my Users folder, it says 41 gigs but when I open the folder, open my main account's folder (again listed at 41 gigs) and check the size of all the files it contains, they only come out to 6 gigs. Where are the other 32 gigs listed on the main folder located?

Does it worth to pay the price for changing the motherboard and service fees or should I look around and buy a new PC (desktop or notebook)?

COOLER MASTER Vortex Plus Its a low profile cooler, so going to perform worse than big tower coolers. But it has the advantage of fitting in cramped cases. Also 92mm fan is going to be loud at 100%. It is an improvement on the stock cooler but not really suitable for overclocking, more something you put in your htpc in a hot climate or with a real mild oc.

The heat sink you linked isn't very low profile at all. If you have even more room than that, you could look for something tiny in tower style with 92mm fan. This one is 125mm height and not that expensive: http://www.amazon.com/True-spirit-90-Thermalright-Spirit/dp/B00ADPJ5QM/
