I still don't get why Brood War takes up 50% of the cpu, and why all my games run just as fast, as with a dual core 1.6 Ghz. I guess it's just the way it is

My computer is already really old, so I need to get a socket AM2 cpu. My question is if I need to take anything into consideration for getting a new processor other than the socket and wattage. Thanks a lot! P.S. Is this the correct place to post this type of question or would somewhere else be better? Yes it's the correct place. There is no point in upgrading from an AM2 processor to an AM2 processor. This is just a waste of money. Skip to 2:35 for installation of heatsink: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcR8Fl8cwZk Hmmm, i have tried from all 4 positions however i did not press that hard, will try now and give feedback in 5-10 minutes. Thanks a lot. *Edit, tried with considerable force with the Intel logo facing towards me, nothing, seems like the pins are too wide to even fit in the holes.

There's an unlock position and a locked position. When you removed the heatsink, you turned the pushpins to the unnlock position. When you go to reinstall, you need to turn them back into the lock position. Oh i see. Will try again in the opposite position! * Edit Tried again with both positions and still no luck.... Any suggestions?

The problem is, whenever we are using both computers at the same time, and im like playing starcraft, the other computer has a hard time doing anything internet related like web browsing, the connection is lost or it barely ends up ont he site. At the same time, my starcraft doesnt crash Sometimes, both computers are slown down a lot or internet crashes when we are both web browsing. Whenever its only 1 computer only working, then we have no internet issue. Could it be that I need a new router or could it be the internet is too slow? Its high speed internet 8MB per second I think. ![]()

To fix this you need to throttle each computer's bandwidth such that it won't completely saturate the connection, set it to cap at 80-90% of whatever speeds you get w/ router disconnected. Do this for both upstream AND downstream, and if the software allows, set it to prioritize ACKs.
