It crashes with and without the overclock.
Temperatures are all fine.
If you haven't already, update to the latest video drivers and also do a windows update. Also try the other DVI port.

Been using the HDMI port. all drivers have been reinstalled and updated.

I'm confused about SSD and "real" usable memory. for example: The crucial m4 128gb has 119gb usable memory. Now im confused to why that is. Some people say its: 1. Because they advertise using the metric system while windows uses a binary system. which would be 128 / 1,024^3 = ~119gb (exactly the correct number, but dont feel like recalculating it again). It would imo be weird if they used that exact number as spare area. 2. Its used as spare area.
On the other hand you have the intel 320. The 300gb version has 20 nand chips of 16 gb = 320gb. So the 20 gb is used as backup spare area?? You allso see 279gb. So does it have 20gb extra spare area, besides the standard spare area or is the metric vs binary explination the correct one?
-totally confused-

That's correct.
Intel 320 and Crucial M4 both have the amount of memory as advertised. Though only the binary amount is usable in Windows and the remaining is used for spare area.

Hi guys,
I recently purchased a new monitor -- LG E2251VR (http://www.lg.com/hk/it-product/monitor/LG-home-E2251VR.jsp)
Everything seems to be fine but until i started to do some photoshop on this picture: http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/Waxangel/naniwa3_small.png
The background colour should be orange, but when displayed on my 2nd monitor (yes, I'm making it my desktop background.. gonna love dem probe rush and oh, the irony too), the newly purchased LG, it seems to be more yellow than it is orange! I've tried changing the RGB and the hue settings but I don't that should be the way to fix this colour "error".
Help!!
Edit: OMG I just realised that it could be my laptop monitor not displaying the right colours all these while! Can someone verify it for me? Is the naniwa picture background colour more yellow or orange? I'm seeing a bright yellow on my LG and a deep orange on my dell XPS1530 monitor. I tried to take a picture to let you guys have a good comparison, but the camera correctly registers both colours as orange. PS: There is nothing wrong with my eyes, I assure you.
Edit2: Here's a good comparison. The orange is actually brighter than that, and the yellow is also significantly more yellow-ish.

The picture appears as yellow on all three of my displays.

On a totally related note, i think the orange version looks much better =)
and i shouldn't have gotten another TN panel.. just realised how important colour accuracy is.

Alright, I am going to post this here because I am not sure that this is worthy of a new thread....
I have a HP Pavilion Dv6 notebook + Show Spoiler +Operating System MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i5 @ 2.27GHz 68 °C Arrandale 32nm Technology RAM 4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz (7-7-7-20) Motherboard Hewlett-Packard 3659 (CPU) 75 °C Graphics Generic PnP Monitor (1366x768@60Hz) 512MB GeForce G105M (HP) 61 °C Hard Drives 488GB TOSHIBA TOSHIBA MK5056GSY (SATA) Optical Drives hp DVDRAM GT30L SVK QJ4T23KL SCSI CdRom Device Audio IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and it has a very bad habbit of hard-locking seemingly at random, with no dump file generated. It crashes no matter what programs I am running, and sometimes right after my computer starts up. I have run all the HP diagnostics that come with my system and the Windows Memory test, all of which have come up clean. I have also updated all the drivers and have run driver verifier for all the drivers, all of which have come up clean with the exception of one (ACPI.sys, which immediately gives me a blue screen + Show Spoiler +The IO manager has detected a violation by the driver that is being verified. The faulty driver that is being verified must be debugged and replaced with a working version Stop 0x00000C9 (0x000000000000E22E) (0xFFFFF88001138888) (0xFFFFF9800170HEA0)(0x000000000000000) I cannot find any relevant data for this code on the Microsoft Technet Website which I cannot debug (No crash dump file is generated [I have enabled the dump file features for my hard drive], and my skills with Kernel Debugger and Little to Nil). The only commonality any of the crashes seem to have is that they occur withing 1-2 hours after I have moved the laptop (although they can occur outside that range) and does not seem to crash at all when I keep it in one place. The problem first started to occur 6 months after I bought my computer and increased in severity to the point which it is at today. I am at the end of my technical expertise, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Forgive the wall of text please; I wanted to get as much data in there as I could

TN panels can get good colour accuracy through eyeballing or using a $80 Spyder 3. IPS panels look good because most have been pre-calibrated in some capacity before leaving the factory.
What IPS panels real offer is native 8/10 bit support (e-IPS panels you probably would get are all 6 bit anyway), no colour shift, and no colour crushing where dark colours tend to be impossible to differentiate between many shades of black/grey.

Anyone has this issue where this site (team liquid) keeps on loading even if it is finished?
My browser (Firefox) says that the site is still loading (showing this circle thing next to the page name in the tab title) but the site is fully displayed and available....?
Edit: Seems like some ads keep on loading, the content of the site itself is 100% there....

I have a MSI H61-P21 motherboard. Will this going to be compatible with Ivy Bridge processors?

thanks for your suggestion.
I have another simple question: On Sunday theres a big $20 mio. Poker Tourney on Pokerstars. I'd like to play with a good friend of mine. Unfortunately you cannot play pokerstars tourneys with 2 accounts on 1 IP (we already tried 2 times). How do i change the IP on my laptop, so we can play sitting next to each other? Thanks already

Hey, I'm looking into upgrading my processor because my plans for a new rig have been delayed by quite a bit. My computer is already really old, so I need to get a socket AM2 cpu. My question is if I need to take anything into consideration for getting a new processor other than the socket and wattage. Thanks a lot! P.S. Is this the correct place to post this type of question or would somewhere else be better?

Hi.
I have a 60 FPS video encoded in handbrake.
How do I make it 60 FPS on youtube? Because I don't think I can above 240p anymore. Is this true? This might not be a simple answer.

True. Youtube updated their check system so everything pretty much gets converted to 30 FPS.

Whelp that was simple I guess.
Fucking youtube. SHMUPS look like garbage at not 60FPS honestly.

You could ask in the computer build thread. Maybe you'll get more responses there. But as long as the cpu fits your motherboard you should be fine.

Title: Asrock P5B-DE mobo + core 2 duo E7600 @ 3.06GHz + Kingston 2GB Ram DDR2 @ 533 CL4 = FSB 266 What The Fuck?
Details: I don't know what a chassis fan is but asrockoc says it doesn't work (0rpm), broken power fan (these 2 may be the main problem or may not be) When I manually set the ram frequency to 533 which would result in 1066 FSB just like I planned, the computer doesn't boot up. (Win XP SP3, newest Bios for model) I'm actually scared to try lesser speeds like 400 or even 333 because i don't even know what speed auto has chosen automatically (setting which seems to work but i don't want to stay at 266 fsb obviously when I should have 1066) Asrockoc also shows bus/clock ratio 11.5 and voltage 1.20 which seem to be normal according to Intel Please don't ask additional questions about power supply model, mouse and keyboard and mouse pad model and penis-size etc. if you don't know what's going on.
|
3.06ghz = 266 clock * 11.5 multiplier
1066mhz = 266 * 4 (quad-pumped fsb)
266 * 2 = DDR2-533
so the maths work out. what are you trying to do? are you saying your computer wont boot? you dont have to change anything, just let bios auto read the memory itself
