Hello I have a question regarding purchases online. I ordered a Gigabyte gtx 670 from tigerdirect.ca when it was being sold for 409$ on june 15th, I then get an email saying it's backordered which is fine and it'll ship when its in stock. Cool. Then like 3 weeks later it ships so i wait a couple days to check the tracking and its an MSI GTX 670
So I email them and they said that card is no longer available so they sent me this one instead which I thought was crazy that a company would just choose a new product for their customer with out notifying me first. Now I checked their site and it says the gigabyte one is still there but costing $471.99 instead of the $409, I have been charged for the card but have not yet received the card it should arrive on tuesday but do they not have to give me the card I ordered for the advertised price at which I placed my order or am I just SOL on this one?
EDIT: After making this post I notice that the MSI also got its price increased to $471 it was also $409 before, maybe somebody knows whether or not the gigabyte ones are actually unavailable now or not

If you check out with $409 and are now being charged $471 that is definitely something you need to complain about.

Seems like terrible service to not ask you about a replacement. Even the manufacturer aside, getting a loud reference blower is a whole lot different than a Gigabyte WindForce 3x. wtf are they thinking?
They don't have to offer the card for $409 (though that's closer to market value), but they definitely shouldn't have charged you $472 without asking first.

There is really no good way to spin that if that's what really happened.
I dunno what to say. That's like Kotaku newsworthy.

Tigerdirect is known for being really, really dodgy. Crap like shipping wrong orders and selling refurbished units as new. Hilarious story:
I'm fed up with Tiger Direct. Back on 3/14 they ran a deal on a Lenovo Thinkpad x61 tablet. They had two "tablets" advertised, one had a little better specs than the other.
I checked and double checked the ads and ordered the better one. What I recieved was a netbook, not a tablet. I called Tiger about the mix up. It took me a while to get them to see that a tablet has a touch screen or a stylus you can use for input, whether they really recognized that or not they gave me an RMA. The ad was not changed to reflect that the one unit was a netbook, not a tablet. The other unit sold out, so I gave up on it.
Come to this past week and I got an email with a laptop sale from Tiger. They had a new (refurbished) Lenovo tablet with a docking station, so I ordered that unit. Yesterday I got the shipment and opened it up. I got an Lenovo x61 tablet, ok things are looking up, but wait, where is the dock? I call Tiger and inquire to the status of the dock. The customer service rep tells me it is backordered and discontinued?
They were looking for an alternative. I was like why would you send the unit without the dock or telling me before? She said the people that ordered before me got the docks. Really?
She didn't seem to concerned about satisfying me, I was to pay full price and wait around for them to find me a dock?? My faith in Tiger Direct's refurbished units is nonexistant. Anyone else have these issues?

Will this setup run SC2 reasonably well? i.e. on medium at 60+ fps.
intel i5 8 gb ram nvidia geforce GT 640 1GB gddr5
It's a dell xps 8500... and pretty economical.

It will run almost surely with way over 60fps

Hey, so I built a new linux machine and I was wondering if I could bring all my steam games from the hdd in my windows7 machine and basically copy and paste the folder into steam for my linux machince. Ubuntu 12.04 if that helps.

I have a quick question about streaming, xsplit, and skype. When I stream all my sounds go through perfectly, except for skype. You have to struggle to hear the skype call on my stream. Does anyone know why?

My wording in my 2nd paragraph was a little confusing for what happened I was charged the original amount 409 plus tax, not the extra amount, but they charged my account after choosing a replacement product for me. I emailed them and was told that it's unavailable, but I then called them and they have them in stock and apparently all I have to do is call them once it arrives and they will send the other one over, but their communication is just awful like just give me some straight answers.

If you are just ordering the one card the one you chose is still way better than the one they are giving you so yeah they better give you what you ordered lol.

EDIT: Crap this is the Tech support "simple questions simple answers" thread. Sorry I posted here.

If I'm running furmark and it report my gpu as "Core: 708 mhz (THROTTLING -573mhz)" is it throttling? I didn't think it was cause the 708 would randomly and briefly jump down to a lower value and then pop straight back up, but I wasn't sure so I figured I'd ask.

Its Furmark. GPUs will throttle themselves the minute they see it. It is a really, really, really stupid program. Do not use it. Use a realistic program such as a video game.

Yeah. I ran it for a few minutes then got antsy and killed it. idt it's important, I've already had a nice runthrough on sc2, so I'm not really concerned about real world throttling. But thank ye!

Do any of the major tournaments offer downloadable content. My new s3 phone is great...but lousy signal at the gym and I want to preload games, need a good source.

Why are my wifi results so spotty? All of these were run from the same location. Initially good results. Then I put the computer in sleep, and resumed a few seconds later - leading to the 3 sub one download results. Then I restarted, and got better, but not good results.
Order of info is date, IP, download, upload, ping, server. Speedtest.net of course. I just bought a brand new samsung series 7 chronos, which was rumored to have wifi range issues, but I'm confused because they're only sometimes there - otherwise it works fine. Wifi drivers are also up to date.

Edit: My brother gets 24 Mbps on his thinkpad edge e430 from basically the same location, if it matters.

Can someone answer a question please? I wish to stream on medium quality with approx. ~60 fps and my budget is only $600 so I came up with these products to see if I can accomplish my goal. Here are the specs please reply :D
Asus HD 7750 GPU AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 ghz 8 GB RAM ASRock 880GM-LE FX AM3+ AMD 880G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

If those are the only components you need then a core i5 is easily affordable and significantly better than a Phenom II X4.
