Inspiration was pulled from this video. + Show Spoiler + Im not sure Ive ever broken down the cost of JUST the cooling because the AC and fans are electricity and so is the power used to power the rigs sooooo breaking it down that far is sort of a math problem. I dunno figure.... maybe $100? EDIT: PBBBT embedding disabled. Video in spoiler

I still want to do a custom build inside a minifridge one day. I pretty much figured out the logistics of keeping moisture from being an issue, but it would still probably be pricey.

Personally I would do it in an oil aquarium before freezer. The bling potential is through the roof. EDIT: Also slo mo fans. Very cool.

Now if you had said mini-FREEZER we would have moisture problems. Personally I would do it in an oil aquarium before freezer. The bling potential is through the roof. EDIT: Also slo mo fans. Very cool. The issue is that if I did the minifridge, I'd use it, and humidity = condensation when it opens. Not a big deal, I'd just use a plexi case inside with some of those cheap humidor crystals that absorb moisture, and then airtight the puppy except for heatpipes and cables. And hoses if I did it underwater in the fridge. Can you imagine how badass it would be to open your PC to grab a beer?

The new ASICs from Butterfly labs are going to kill GPU mining though. People are saying it could kill bitcoin but I think I can still take my GPGPU processing power to go do something else.

I don't really keep up with bitcoin related stuff. Are the ASICs something that'll be worth a damn for normal use?

I'm doing this to try and bypass university firewall which blocks... almost everything for playing games. VPN works somewhat but I get weird disconnects every 20-30 minutes.

The last card I had installed in a desktop was Radeon 9800 PRO, so I'm pretty far behind the curve when it comes to following what's good and what's not. Could you recommend me a graphics card for my setup? Motherboard: Intel DH55HC CPU: i3 540 @ 3.07 GHz (Clarkdale) RAM: 2 x 2 GB DDR3 PSU: Modecom Feel 500W
