Though if you have a problem, each manufacturer will blame the other manufacturer.

If I'd had two brands, I'da been fucked when they upgraded me on the RMA. Would have been totally awkward to downgrade from SLI 460 to a single 560Ti if the spare card had been another brand. That's literally the only case I know of where it's relevant.

As long as you inform them at the initial RMA that it's for an SLI system, yes. I'm running SLI 560Ti for the upgrade cost of the shipping on the first card. There's a reason I pay extra for the brand, and it's not for a pretty label.

I've saved a fair amount of money and hassle using their stuff. Granted, for people who just want to build and forget, and leave it alone all the time, it's not always worth the premium. Damn, I sound like an advertisement. I can't help it, they've turned me into a fanboy by having legit enthusiast support. Their warehouse is a little slow sometimes though. The second 460 RMA to turn it back into SLI came back as a 460 the first time, but since the second and third shipping labels were free, that was purely a time nuisance. I do, however, doubt that if they did AMD cards, that they'd upgrade 10 cards in one mining rig just to keep them matching ![]()

They've paid to upgrade when the new cards are out, so they're already on the right generation, and just have to wait for a restock on the appropriate model. The actual point of an SLI RMA is so they know not to upgrade you under any circumstance where they can avoid it, the reason they upgraded both of mine was because it was their warehouse's mistake. It's probably harder to accidentally send an upgrade over current flagship.

Every 7970 I get at this point is $100 a month Im receiving from bitcoin. More if the price of the coin keeps going up. It broke $9 twice already and then someone sold a million dollars or so off punching the coin down again. Choosing is the hard part when doing these large batch purchases. I dont wanna pick up severl dozen 7970's and then find out I made a mistake that cost me tens of thousands of dollars. Thats why i keep asking on TL hoping someone eventually goes "STOP DONT DO THAT" but so far after prompting TL for an opinion 3 times the response has been "yeah go for it" basically.
