best 2000 laptop?

so i have a 2000 dollar budget for a laptop and want to know what would be a good place to start looking. my only requirements are i don't really want a mainstreem laptop so basically no alienware/dell mac etc but i want it good for gaming. for some reason i have a fascination with brands that are not really mainstream. Basically i will use it for gaming and for video editing and stuff like that plus the usual word documents for school. does anyone who has any experience with computers have any suggestions? i know i could get a better deal on a desktop but usually i only have time for gaming when i am on the road and have a short break or so to play

i wouldnt trust sager, one NP2092 stopped working after 2 1/2 years....

however that might have had something to do with my defunct nVidia 8600M GT card....

i would go with either Asus, MSI, or if u really wanna spend all 2k, Falcon Northwest

Haved owned a Sager 8690 for a year now (now discontinued model) but I can vouch for Sager's quality. Excellent customer support, well built computers. They mostly use Clevo parts and have good cooling.

that's where I bought mine from, it's cheaper, I don't know why.

I picked up my brand new laptop in Australia for $600 Australian (roughly 600 US as well). It's got an AMD P340, 500GB HD, 4GB RAM and a 5470 video card. You can get a state-of-the-art laptop with i7, 4GB RAM and the best card with a 17" display for 2000 easily... just make sure you also include the warranty.
