Excellent shape, VERY easy to push buttons, Z axis issue pretty much solved (it does go down and to the right upon lifting but it goes back up and to the left when putting down, and it's not very noticeable at high sens anyway). The main issue that I hear about on specialized forums is something called "dynamic dpi scaling" that was introduced in the last firmware to fix a jittering issue. It lowers the dpi when the mouse is moving very slowly, but I've tested it extensively and you need to be moving REALLY slowly for it to kick in and I absolutely never notice it in normal usage. I can see how that would be annoying if you play FPSs, though. Happy to answer any question, cheers.
Thanks for your post! I ordered the Imperator yesterday because the shape of it looks really PERFECT. I'll hopefully receive it in the next two days so I'll also write a small review when I got it, let's hope I dont have any problems with the mouse at all, I loved the abyssus but sometimes I just feel its too 'small' even though its probably one of the best mice I have used in the last 10 years, and I have used a lot of them.

Does the Razer Imperator suffer from any positive acceleration / negative acceleration on cloth pads issues as the mice with Avago A9500(SS Sensei, Logitec G9x)?

Just a quick update from me:
I grabbed a Roccat Kova+ as they were on sale at Amazon and size/shape-wise it's really nice. It is, therefore, a crying shame that the f***ing thing doesn't work. Plug it in and you get USB device not recognized, then it flickers on, off then dies on its arse.
Utterly disappointed.
Who manufactures decent mice these days, or are they all flimsy, cheaply made pieces of garbage?

Try something that doesn't say "gaming" on it. Logitech still makes good mice, even the gaming ones, in that case.

In the OP it states the razer orochi has 2000 dpi when it has 4000 dpi when wired. Hope that helps

Don't think so. The PTE sensor has issues but it's quite good when it comes to precision and absence of acceleration. Might be good idea to ask on specialized forums such as overclock.net.

I currently want to try out a bigger mouse, probably an ergonomic one, with a higher dpi-setting. I currently use a Logitech G1, so i would like to keep using the fingertip grip. I'm wondering whether I should pick up a Razer Imperator 2012, a Razer Deathadder or a TT eSPORTS Saphira, what would you guys rather recommend for my grip style?

I'm using the Razer Imperator 2012 and I'm loving the form factor. It's a big, lightweight mouse that I can easily fingertip grip.
The Deathadder was a bit too heavy for my taste.
I've tried the Saphira and it's a beauty except for the angle snapping. If you don't mind the angle snapping, you can go ahead and get that.

Hi all,
I'm undecided because I'm looking at purchasing the new Steel series Kana, I currently own the Razer Abyssus and but feel its just a little to tiny and start to feel cramps after a small gaming session. I've felt both Steelseries Kana and Diablo mouses in the shop and feel that the Kana fitted perfectly but I'm not sure its worth buying?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely seconding the comment about the Imperator's awesomeness, but I must say I'm more of a small mice man so I don't have much experience with mid-sized rodents. The only other one I've ever owned was the G400, which is also fantastic, but I think you'd find it a bit too big (especially in height).

NP, same story here, i like lightweight mice, been using the smallest mice like LMO and Zowie MiCO for a long time in the past, they are some of the best. However, I've always liked the ergonomic shape of the Logitech VX Revolution/M705 or the Deathadder even more, but they all felt too heavy.

Without ever having touched any of the mice you mention, I would expect Saphira to be the most fingertip-grip-friendly on account of its stated size and shape. It seems the closest to Logitech G1 to me as well. And I'm somehow inclined to trust WhiteRa. I just see him as the kind of guy who wouldn't fool you into believing he had something to do with a mouse when he didn't.
Deathadder is obviously a mouse you can't go wrong with but you'd need to be careful with details of specific versions/editions, there've been so many. As for the Imperator, it's a large one and I've heard various things about it, both positive and negative. I wouldn't really expect to fingertip-grip it and I have huge hands. IMHO both Deathadder and Imperator are generally palmers. Maybe claw if you have to but for toss-around-the-pad swipe/fingertip trip you want something small and light.

Low-sens gamers who don't need DPI are so lucky, plenty of cheap office mice are better stuff than some "gaming" brands. Heck, I've seen an $2 mouse from Carrefour branded as a "gaming" product... and it actually had a good rubber coating, very nice buttons, fancy lights, 1000 dpi and something else I forgot. The only problem was it was too narrow and my fingers hurt as a result of having to clasp it like that. Didn't track that bad although prediction was big. Esperanza something. Anyway, point being it actually had "gaming" written on it and cost $2 (this) or $3. And was easily worth as much an $20 and probably not worse than a number of $40 mice, including gaming brands. Some other day I picked up a cheap Logitech M90. Lovely ergonomics, real pleasure to palm, only issue being too low dpi for a palmer from my point of view (I can't really use a palmer with 800 dpi in full HD RS, generally need >2K for large optical palmers and 1200-1600 for small rodents.

I played sc2 @360dpi for like 6 months and FPS at far lower sens, any 800dpi is overkill even IMO as long as it tracks well and doesnt have any acceleration or much prediction. 800dpi is not "low" by the standards of many who are good at using mice

currently using at home - tt esports theron currently using at work - microsoft intellimouse 1.1
i have decided i prefer the intellimouse shape for comfort, but i am worried about buying one as the dpi is very low and i play on a moderately high dpi of about 1400 regularly. if someone can explain to me that the dpi wont be an issue id love to grab a intellimouse as they're very cheap.
1. What's your grip style? palm
2. What's your sensitivity? medium-high 1400dpi (anything around there is fine)
3. What's your maximum budget? prefer lower, not too worried
4. Do you want additional buttons? prefer some side buttons, not heaps worried
5. What games do you play? starcraft2 priority - gw2 - fps
6. Do you mind angle snapping? dont know what that is but it doesnt sound good
7. Other relevant information: have used an not liked - abyssus - kinzu - hate acceleration with a passion
thanks!

Ok, my Razer Deathadder broke :/ looking for a new mouse. I use a fairly high sensitivity due to playing a lot of my games on my TV.
1. Grip - Palm 2. Sensitivity - 3500 dpi 3. Max Budget - $100AU 4. Buttons - A few on the side like the deathadder, nothing more 5. Games - SC2, LoL, Arma2 6. Angle Snapping - No, don't like hardware telling me how i use my mouse 7. Other relevant stuff - Not any razer stuff, considering TtEsports Black cause it looks awesome.

I've had my Deathadder for a couple of months now, and it's already showing signs of damage. The mouse pointer jerks around occasionally, and the Razer light on the back of the mouse sometimes turns orange/yellow rythmically. Has anybody else had this issue?
Thanks

You can turn acceleration and snapping off with a Sensei, while supposedly some accel is inherent in the sensor (which is the same sensor as in the Logitech G9X and some other mice (a nice page of mouse data can be found in the Mouse Reference Thread at Overclock.net). Zowie mice are supposedly good for RTS games and avoid accel (as far as the sensor allows that, one shouldn't expect a mouse to be better than other mice with the same sensor just because a particular manufacturer is signing it) but they are reported as having prediction (correction/angle snapping). Shape and buttons on the Zowies might be to your liking, guessing from what you say.

At least look at the Saphira? Seems to meet your description, not sure about angle snapping/prediction on that particular sensor, while it's the most advanced optical sensor right now at least among Avago sensors (stuff they use in Kana and Kinzu v2 might be fresher/better tech).
