Does resolution affect mouse sensitivity? Like 1600 on 1920 is similar to 800 on 1280?

Because I'm on 1280x768 resolution. And I play on 400cpi, 6/11, on a 19.5' screen.

Less pixels on a smaller res = easier to move from point A to point B. 400 dots covers a whole lot more screen distance the smaller your res.

I have to lower my DPI when I load up BW because that plays on a 640x480 screen. 1600 is a bit too slippery for me at that small resolution

Ah okay... so when I play on 400 1280x768, it's more like what other people play on.

What is the diffrence between Kinzu and Kinzu v2 pro?
I can see on google that Kinzu v2 pro is made from diffrent material which look like not suited for slick hands?
Which one of them is better suited for slick hands issue?

2 razer questions:

is there any point to the naga/naga hex having extra side buttons in sc2?

and is the mamba just overkill? is it really that great?

The mamba is definitely overkill. So expensive for basically a Deathadder that just runs out of batteries.

It's still low.

400 on 1280x768 is akin to only 600 on 1920x1080

Razer claims 60-120 inches per second and 15g of acceleration

FYI all specs are listed in the OP.

Biggest difference between the two is a different sensor, there were a number of issues with the sensor in the Kinzu alot of complaints of pixles skipping. Though Steelseries released firmware update, there were still some people complaining of issues with the original Kinzu. The V2 uses the Pixart PAW3305DK. Differences in specs:

Kinzu
Frames per second: 9375
Inches per second: 50
Mega pixels per second: 3.75
Counts per inch: 400 – 3200
Maximum acceleration: 20 G
Sensor data path: True 16 bit
Lift distance: ~2 mm
Maximum polling: 1000 Hz

Kinzu V2
Frames per second: 3600
Inches per second: 65
Mega pixels per second: 3.7
Counts per inch: 400 – 3200
Maximum acceleration: 30 G
Sensor data path: True 16 bit
Lift distance: ~2 mm
Maximum polling: 1000 Hz

Honestly though, I would recommend against either of them. Both have built-in acceleration, cheap plastic feet, & anglesnapping. Only nice thing is the price point.

IMO:

1. No
2. Yes

The naga is really aimed an MMO players. And I really don't think anyone needs to drop $120 on a mouse. There are a lot of very good options for like half the price.

Nothing significant, they both use the exact same sensor.

Steel Series claims that the pro edition has higher quality buttons and better mouse feet. But those are literally the only differences.

Oh, interesting marketing...

I was just wondering because i was pretty sure the newest Kinzu was free from acceleration, but you said they both have it.

Hmmm you might be right about that. I might be thinking about the Xai, I'm not sure now.

That's going to be an entirely subjective answer. Really depends on an individual's grip style and other factors like how many extra buttons one needs and whether they want angle snapping or not.

Based on my preferences, if I had the cash I would probably look at getting a Zowie AM.

No your initial statement is correct, but there is a caveat. We should mention that the Kinzu V1 had an inherent positive acceleration flaw in the sensor which was apparent even at low speeds.

The V2 Kinzu (pro and reg versions) only has acceleration issues once you near the sensors malfunction rate. Unfortunately, the perfect control speed of the V2 Kinzu (with MR following soon after) is something like 1.7m/s or therein, which is pretty miserably low for a lot of people, mostly low sens players. For SC2 if you use higher CPI (like 1600) or never hit speeds near that rate, it could be an OK mouse. For example, on 800CPI you might only ever hit speeds of 1.3m/s in SC2.

I seriously considered making a Kinzuadder for a while because I liked the shape and size of the Kinzu, but the performance was pretty disheartening.

Edit: forgot the V2 Pro has Omron d2fc-f-7n switches, and the V2 has TTC

Just as an additional two cents, food for thought, etc.:

I just picked up the Razer Deathadder Black Edition from amazon for $42, and I'm loving the mouse right now. I also have a Razer Abyssus that I picked up some time ago as well, but I was never really all that comfortable (and as a result satisfied) with the mouse because of the ambidextrous design. It just felt odd in my hand after using it for longer periods of time where I would mentally be aware of how I was holding and attempt to re-adjust. I just wanted to have that feeling of using the mouse rather than thinking of how I using it.

In addition, for anyone who has trouble with smudges or sweat marks that appear on mice after use, the Deathadder black edition has a kind of material where none of those marks are visible, at least for the moment. All in all, it's very nice, comfortable and pretty accurate. Definitely would suggest it to others looking for a mouse (and right-handed ).

P.S. you can use a website called camelcamelcamel.com to monitor prices for amazon products and from other retailers, too, like Newegg to see what you're comfortable spending and try to forecast if they'll be a price change.

I have ridiculously small hands (6cm middle finger // 16cm from carpus to middle fingertip) which is why I planned to buy a Kinzu, but now that I read all those "bad" things about it I am 100% unsure^^ So my alternative was the Zowie Mico. What do you guys think about it? Or are there any other mice you could recommend for my hand-size? Thx in advance

You can turn off the acceleration. I understand what the website says, but I've tested the kinzu plenty of times. There is no acceleration, as long as you turn it off in the kinzu mouse setup program.

Yes, the feet are cheap plastic. You can replace them. I actually like the cheap mouse feet, as opposed to teflon. I guess that means it's good if you play on low sensitivities.

I like the kinzu that I have. Love the mouse. It was super cheap at something like $20. It's a great first mouse to get, and if you don't have a mechanical keyboard yet, I'd recommend get that first (a mouse is just what is comfortable basically, ie it isn't goofy, while a mechanical keyboard is soooo much nicer than anything else - not to mention hardware like cpu, gpu, being more important than what mouse you have).

The mouse isn't bad at all. People keep saying 'acceleration' because the mouse has hardware acceleration that is only utilized if you turn it on in the software, but anyone who has one will tell you there is no acceleration on it. The plastic feet are odd, so if you are currently using a high end mouse, you might not like going from a $100 mouse with teflon feet to a $20 mouse with plastic feet. It's a great mouse, but it IS a $20 mouse after all. You can get teflon pads if it's really an issue.

For $20, it's an awesome mouse. Maybe the best mouse to buy at $20. The only issue is that it's small (for some people, they may like that - I like it.). and the plastic feet (hey, it's $20, if you are just using any old mouse, it's much nicer than it).
