i ve yet to have a mouse with rubber that does not wear down after ~1 1/2 years. never use damp cloth at all thou - might be an idea *edit* you have any advice for a mouse? i am currently watching a lot of youtube videos and it all differs. for example - but there are so many mice - tough to choose and the local stores are really bad so going there and feeling stuff out - not an option. budget should be "the cheaper the better but quality should not suffer" as i am also in the ballpark for a new mechanical keyboard but its tough to find one thats tkl no rgb and is not super overprized (in my book) :D - it should not have kailh switches either - really bad experience with those :<

Left click, right click, scroll wheel click and maybe a couple extra buttons on a mouse are cool but i think it's best to have excellent keyboard habits for hotkeys rather than splitting them 50/50 between hands I keep clean hands at PC and wipe my mouse/keyboard with a damp cloth at least a couple times a day, seems to prevent both issues I do that as well, and there's a rather disturbing amount of buildup around(especially under) the forward/back buttons, as well as around the middle buttons. Just a part of using a mouse for hours a day I guess

What other mice could replace the CM Spawn if I cannot find it on an online retailer site? Cheers!

The price for the mouse is great. Check it out on amazon.com. When I search right now, I get a result where it's sold by Amazon itself, no weird reseller. If you buy the Xornet II, I think there was something about firmware versions that you might want to research before you install any software for the mouse and try to update stuff. It might be best to just use the mouse how it is without newest firmware and without any mouse software installed. If you want to research that, I probably saw that somewhere on overclock.net.

But it's still going strong. I had to take it apart and put some solder on the plastic that was getting worn out but it's working flawlessly to this day.

I have a Xornet II that I forgot to send back to CM Storm (my local store wouldn't refund me -;-) that was squeaky as fuck, couldn't handle playing with it so be wary. Maybe the issue has been dealt with newer versions but it's worth googling imho

Looking at my options right now, and I've narrowed down to the following: - Logitech G402. This one has the same shape as one of the previous mice I used: the Razer Imperator 4G. Strongly considering this just because of the shape alone. I really loved that thumb contour. - Logitech G900. It's a bit pricey and I might never use the wireless option so this might seem like a waste but I have to admit I'm intrigued about it. It also has that nice contoured side which I love. - Steelseries Rival 300. It seems a tad bit smaller than what I'd like but it does have a good optical sensor so I'm listing it as an option. - Steelseries Rival 700. This one seems to have way too many bells and whistles causing price inflation but it does seem like one of the mouse shapes I'm a bit more fond of. Has anyone here used any of these? What do you think?

Seeing as how it takes pressure off the wrist, I might just get one for casual browsing, or wait for a better engineered version. Appaerantly its better for your skeleton as well. A normal mice makes you turn the skeleton to an "unnatural"(thats what they call it) while a mice like above, it doesnt get turned at all.
