the 402 is actually medium sized at best. Its moderately high weight (~100g) with a thick cable and quite draggy feet.
I'd rate it very highly for palm grip and/or FPS play - but trying to use it like a lighter mouse for desktop and other game genre's didn't work out at all for me. End result = awkwardness and some RSI from refusing to change my grip to palm-style due to the weight and lack of control from fingertips.
Really? The logitech website claims that the 402 friction coefficients (glide) are pretty much the same as the g100 and g300 series with some of the latter even having higher ones, it's surprising to hear it feels draggy. I really wish there was a store where I could just try all of these out, but there's no chance of that in my town. I felt like the G1 was perfect for SC2 but I wanted something slightly heavier for Dota, because I feel like I get more punished for precision mistakes rather than for a lack of fast control and the g300 series shapes just all seem very awkward (again didn't get to actually use them). I did use a g500 for like 6 months and was fine with it even though that felt heavyish.
I kind of wanted a logitech, because I frequently see people getting a new mouse every year while the logi ones just seem to last forever. Do CM Storm and Roccat mouses have a good record?
i don't really know what the numbers measure exactly or how the stock feet are on the g100s, g302/303 etc - but it could be due to the increased weight of the mouse and the difficulty of applying the right amount of force to it that creates that feeling of it being stuck to the pad for non-fps games

Depends on how you grip a mouse those who put weight on a mouse palm grippers mostly and some claw grippers that weight won't matter. Pure fingertip and claw/fingertip hybrids who don't push down on the mouse can feel the difference easier.
2. What's your sensitivity? somewhere between 600-800 on a 1440p screen (terrible for some stuff but I like it for SC2 micro so use this for everything).
3. What's your maximum budget? $70
4. Do you want additional buttons? Ones on the top are handy, on my tt esports black I cant even reach the left hand buttons properly, let alone save time from macro.
5. What games do you play? SC2, HOTS, RPG's and strat games like EU4.
6. Do you mind angle snapping? Don't know what that is, but it sounds bad. Lol.
7. Other relevant information: I am currently using a TT esports black element (with full weight in) but the feet have fallen off and the buttons are messed up leading to double clicks or clicks not working depending upon settings... kinda sucks to select every drone and send them off minerals in the opening minute of a game . I am happy to pay up to around 70 if need be, but if I can find a mouse for 30 or so that fulfils my needs I will be happy. Not concerned with a super high DPI since I use around 600! Having said that, if I get a better sensor with those mice I might be willing to pay. Was looking at the razor imperator , razer abyssys and deatheradder chroma. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
And I've loved it! Fantastic mouse. But I've developed a bit of RSI after, er, too much video game play, and I think a mouse with a different shape might be needed. But first, the forms must be observed:
1. What's your grip style? fingertip
2. What's your sensitivity? lowish. I usually go with 800 DPI on the Naos 3200, but I'd like a mouse that can do 600 or even 400.
3. What's your maximum budget? $100, but cheaper is better
4. Do you want additional buttons? no.
5. What games do you play? SC2, Path of Exile, Civ V, Paradox games, it varies
6. Do you mind angle snapping? less is better
7. Other relevant information: Optical is nice. I love the construction on the Naos 3200 (fantastic surface coating, understated aesthetics, braided cord, durability). But what's really important, and the reason I'm asking for the recommendation, is the SHAPE. Note the picture of the Naos 3200 above. See the indentation where the thumb goes? The RSI I've been having the most difficulty with is stiffness/soreness in the largest joint of my right thumb. I think the shape of the mouse, where the thumb is nearly folded underneath the index finger, is a problem. I'm hoping someone has a suggestion for a mouse where the thumb-rest bulges out and will push the thumb farther away from the rest of the hand.

Among the mice you're considering, for palm grip, you should try out the death adder. Razer build quality is always a tad iffy though.
Couple days on a Logitech G100s. I finally found my naked G9x replacement for fingertip grip. Great sensor, very friendly shape, great clicks, very light. Of course its the cheaper 30 dollar mouse that ends up gelling with me ahaha. Stupid G303 shape and your sexy clicks and sensor. I wouldn't mind it being a little wider for my large hands, but damn is it nice to finally use a shape that suits my grip style.

Hey guys ~ need some advice I guess, I've been using a CM Storm Spawn for a while, which sadly broke now and since they're really hard to get in europe.
1. What's your grip style? Aggressive Claw 2. What's your sensitivity? about 1600-2000 dpi 3. What's your maximum budget? ~80€ 4. Do you want additional buttons? yes, at least 2 side buttons, which are programmable 5. What games do you play? Sc2 primarly 6. Do you mind angle snapping? Don't care 7. Other relevant information: It should be quite lightweighted
PS: I'd buy a CM Storm Xornet if necessary, I just dislike the buttons not being programmable and the dpi Settings are suboptimal.

Good to hear, i'd still like to try a g100s. I held off a bit because i the sensor would prevent me from playing FPS the way i'd like to without a mouse switch, hopefully g303 does the trick!
@SoulRiM - pretty limited selection for good light fingertip/claw mice

Thank in advance ~SoulRiM
I'd look at the Mionix Naos line. Naos 3200 - older optical sensor, I wouldn't take this past 1600 DPI Naos 7000 - recent optical sensor Naos 8200 - recent laser sensor
It really is a fantastic mouse, even if I'm looking for a bit different shape at the moment. If you like the storm spawn, the overall shape of the Naos is pretty similar. The Naos is slightly larger.
Most people think that the higher number on the naos and avior 8200 are better; the 7k's actually have the best sensor for gaming.. or, well, anything at all~ because consistency is important no matter what you're doing with a mouse
lol i ordered from amazon.co.uk, they took like 2 weeks to dispatch g303 and then sent it from france to germany to england then up the whole length of the UK on a truck. I just got a tracking number because it's out for delivery today
1; nice cable, less thick/stiff than both xornet and g402 cable. Doesn't drag the mouse in a bad way.
2; oh my god what the f*** is this shape
3; actually feels very good sensor-wise, i can detect input lag on desktop @144hz but it feels like it's because of being able to maneuver the mouse well. I feel input lag more with lighter and more easily controlled mice because i can move them more easily and sharply
4; scroll wheel is good, left+right pretty much perfect as expected (logi's well known clicks with buttons separated from main mouse shell, very low latency)
5; oh, side buttons are a thing!
it's actually not that different in size from xornet. It's a bit longer but less wide. The shape is not at all comparable from a grip perspective
after a few mins, it feels good. For a claw grip, the thumb reaches just far enough to get past the ridge comfortably. For fingertip, you can get leverage on or underneath the center of mass, which is nice.
I'm just noticing the LOD hours later, it's a touch low for my liking. I accidentally partially stopped tracking a few times when re-adjusting mouse
feels lighter than it is because of the shape of the mouse and where grip can be. The weight difference between g303 and g402 isn't that huge but the feel is completely different, with g402 grip a lot more of my force was going downwards into the desk (enough to shake it when making sharp fast movements) while with g303 i'm almost lifting it off the desk because i have good leverage under the center of mass (which is in a great place due to way the front of the mouse is thin and not tall)
--------------------
just got perfect video (60fps handcam) to show why i prefer moderately high LOD, and not the super low LOD that some companies seem to be going for.
First few seconds there^ my movement jerked the mouse off the ground a tiny bit. Tracking stopped and cursor fell short of where it was supposed to go
edit: day 2-3~ i really like this mouse, it would be a completely different mouse if they removed the ridge on the sides. I don't think it would be a straight improvement at all, that bump gives you a surprising amount of control with both fingertip and claw. This is not a palm grip mouse, which isn't a bad thing.
1. What's your grip style? palm-claw hybrid 2. What's your sensitivity? highish ( 2000dpi ) 3. What's your maximum budget? 50€ 4. Do you want additional buttons? 2 Tumb buttons since i´ve grown realy fond of them on my copperhead 5. What games do you play? D3 , Heroes , some fps every now and then
I´m looking to replace my trusty copperhead. Trying to find a mice similiar in shape and weight . Looked at the zowie Mico but could not find a retailer in germany who sells this at a decent price .
Thinking about buying the razer ouroboros or the Razer mamba im a aggressive claw user dpi:2000 maxiumum budget 100-150$ i dont mind buttons, but i dont fanboy over them either. i play rpgs and starcraft I used to have deathadder it was decent i love the grind then i bought a diablo 3 steelseries, and i really dislike it.
