It's not necessarily pointless. Ret has talked about buying a new keyboard per month or every three months or something to keep his equipment in prime shape. Guaranteed, a Filco would last him much longer than some generic rubber-dome thing. Probably still not cost-efficient but it has some virtue, at least

I can't believe how many people think it's such a crime to spend money on a keyboard. People spend a lot more on power supplies that are way bigger than what they need, and have no impact on their computer's performance. They spend more money on case windows and lighting kits.
It's like saying "You can get a used Ford Focus really cheap, why would you get a [your favorite luxury car brand]?" Just because you can get a 15" monitor for $89 or something, doesn't mean someone is wasting their money because they drop several hundred or a grand on a 24" or 30" screen.
EDIT: I should add though, I don't think a better keyboard or mouse will make you a better gamer unless your current kb/mouse are in such crappy shape that they're screwing with your play. A quality keyboard will improve the accuracy of your typing, and maybe makes a small difference for high-level gamers. They're also much more comfortable (the principal benefit) and will reduce the risk of RSI.

No, there's a tiny bump in the keypress with the one pictured in the OP. The ones with green LEDs have the click.

The reason why I suggest the apple is a Fuji is because something like 80% of the apples sold in East Asia are Fuji, even though there are a lot of common cultivars that are similar looking.
