This is the clearest image of the keyboard I saw in the GSL footage, but I'm very certain what keyboard it is. Google will find you better pictures of Filco keyboards if you want to see them. They are not particularly flashy. They just look like a basic keyboard without any special or multimedia keys. The red Escape key is optional (it comes with the keyboard, but it is not installed by default).

I didn't recognize HopeTorture's keyboard as anything in particular.

I do not believe it is the NKRO version of the Filco; I think the NKRO versions all come with gold logos (though I could be wrong about other odd versions or foreign layouts.) But I don't think NKRO would be a huge benefit, as I don't think you're going to be holding down more than 6 keys simultaneously during an RTS game.

From what I saw from Artosis' GSL qualifier video Tester/sSKS has the same model. I wonder if it's TSL's official keyboard? Anyone see what Clide was using?

The mouse is a Logitech g9/g9x with the precision grip, I'm pretty sure ssks uses the same one too.

Dunno, but the funny thing is that the clan has a sponsor called Nkeyboard, and afaik they aren't making those keyboards. But guess they don't have to use their product.

Main difference is in the switches. 7G uses cherry blacks while this one uses browns. The black switches require more force to press than the brown ones, and I also think there is atleast some tactile feedback to the press compared to the 7G that is linear all the way.

Any idea how the two stack up? I'm interested in a new keyboard O_O

Nice find btw! Gives me a few more options lol~

I've got the 7G, and I desperately want to try out a tenkeyless (because I find the numpad useless and in the way) majestouch with brown switches. Mostly because I just think it'd be nicer if the buttons were a tad bit easier to press down. The 7G is still a really good keyboard, though.

Versus Steelseries, Filco has a longer/more serious reputation among mechanical keyboard nerds. And there are several different versions you can pick from to suit your particular preferences (with or without number pads, blue, black or brown switches, with or without NKRO, with or without lettering on the keys, etc.)

Plus you have to have the red escape key and the lavender WASD kit.

The reason the keyboard is >$130 is because its a mechanical keyboard. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_technology#Mechanical-switch_keyboard )

Once you start using a mechanical keyboard its hard to switch back.

I think it's odd that people balk at a $130 keyboard that will last them 10-15 years, but think nothing of dropping $400 on a video card that they might replace in 2-3 years. Your keyboard is your primary human-computer interface and will last a long time. It's worth spending a little bit of money on a nice one. There a lot of people using a 20 year old model M.

Set aside the technology, could you explain why that is? Is a mechanical keyboard more comfortable?

Or were you just joking?

I saw that too, but wasn't sure it was a FILCO. I have the exact same keyboard except 10-keyless and man is it awesome.
