Built my computer a few months ago. Noticed a problem last night. If I leave my computer on overnight, I have to restart before I play starcraft. I get ridiculous computer lag (puts me at lag screen) trying to play. My computer stutters and freezes until I eventually drop from the game. This is only noticed while playing and not outside of the game.
2700k 16gb XMS3 corsair ddr3 560 TI 1tb F1 Spinpoint 32gb ssd Adata 850 corsair AX p8p67 pro-m v3
Any idea what it could be? This problem is easy to fix, I just don't like having such a problem when my computer is as powerful as it is.

Do you put the computer to sleep / hibernate?
Does this occur in any other game?
Do you have the latest chipset, network, and video drivers?

Very expensive without doing much. Lots of parts far more pricey than needed, even forgetting you're paying up the nose for a premade. There's no obvious task for the computer, certainly for gaming on one screen you'd want completely different parts, but you didn't mention what you want the computer to do (see questions in OP).
Aside from that, this thread generally frowns on a place like cyberpowerpc because of shady business practices, poor component selection, and the general cheapness of building your own computer.
|
Just plain bad, why get such a powerfull CPU? What do you even need the computer to do?
|
You shouldn't pay for a CPU overclock since it's so easy on sandybridge, and if you don't plan on SLI you don't need an 850W PSU. Also, if you don't really have a need for socket 2011, an i5 2500k or i7 2600k are still great cpus for gaming that are much cheaper.

Depends on your needs. Like many things. This PC is only for enthusiasts who also have high workstation needs. Like video editing and all that.
For video gaming that build is incredibly overpriced and overbudgeted or missbudgeted. It doesn't even have a 580!
Why dont you tell us what you need a computer to do for you? That way we can start to draw a reasonable picture on what you need.
And no we generally will not recommend a pre-built. I personally think it is a crime for the same people taking your money to also decide what goes into it.

So assuming it costs the 1870 it's not the worst deal, however the component choices are suboptimal.

i have another question is it worth paying an extra 40 dollars for an i52500k+ http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0367879 vs an i52400+asus h61-mLE board
just wondering as i currently have the 2400+h61 and am planning to go back in to get a price match to -20 dollars off the price making it about 215 after tax or i could upgrade to about 261 for the 2500k+motherboard
Thanks for any help you can give me
|
Not with an H61 motherboard, no, assuming you're not going to be using the integrated graphics. It's worth about $10 more if you're not overclocking, which you can't with an H61 or H67 motherboard.
edit: nevermind I missed the link to the Z68 motherboard. It's arguable since you probably also want an aftermarket heatsink to overclock, so add $25-35 more. If you don't need all the extra CPU performance, it's not worth it. For just gaming, I wouldn't do it unless you've got a healthy budget or mostly play CPU-dependent games. On the other hand, if USB3 and SATA3 are worth something to do, the Z68 motherboard is worth more.

all right- thanks for the help I currently have the cooler already, so I think i'll upgrade to the 2500k+motherboard assuming it is still in stock

generally people wouldn't count prices after rebate I guess, and as its such a high wattage unit it means your idle efficiency will be lower

basically:
The cheapest burner

So I'm a nablet when it comes to compiling a pc up, I put up some sort of parts list with a friend of mine on a site and I'd appreciate if you folks could tell me if this thing blows up the first thing when plugged on or is it even properly compatible
Core i5-2400/3.1GHz 6MB LGA1155 € 193,40 ASUS S1155 H67 DDR3 USB3 SATA6 GBE ATX € 95,90 Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560Ti OC 1GB € 229,90 4GB 1333MHZ DDR3 NON-ECC CL9 DIMM € 23,80 CORSAIR GS PSU 500W 14CM V2.3 80+ € 72,25 SEA BARRACUDA.12 1TB SATA3 7.2K 32MB € 137,50 LG DVDRW 22X BLACK BARE BULK SATA € 22,50 ANTEC THREE-HUNDRED CASE NO PSU BLACK € 54,25
my budget top end hovers around 800ish euros. OP said there's not much need for more than 4 gigs of ram, I don't really need that much HDD space either but I didn't notice that great price differences between 500gb 1000gb. Main objebtive is to have a decent processor and GPU for once and just have enough rig to support them. Site I used to make the list http://www.multitronic.fi/ if it's needed. I'd rather not have to compile the stuff myself, one reason using a single site as then I can just pay them a few 10s of euros to compile and make sure it runs.
Any help much appreciated

The config is all compatible, so the following are just suggestions for keeping the price closer to 800 euros.
I'd get a cheaper hard drive, since there's at least one decent model where you can save some money. If you need more space, get some after prices have more returned to normal levels.
Western Digital Caviar Blue 750GB - €98,90 http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php?prod_id=WD7500AALX&b=1
The CPU price looks unusually high I think, but the best I found was an i5-2320 (3.0 GHz instead of 3.1 GHz) for like 7 euros less, so I guess they're all priced high. http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php?prod_id=BX80623I52320&b=1
If you want to save a little more, I'd get the Antec NSK4482B (which comes with an Earthwatts Green 380D, which is not bad at all) for €93,65 in all. The case is not bad but definitely smaller than "gamer" ATX towers, so a smaller and cheaper Palit GTX 560 Ti for €219,50 may work better. http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php?prod_id=0761345-00496-1&b=1 http://www.multitronic.fi/showprod.php?prod_id=NE5X56T01102F&b=1
Yes, Earthwatts Green 380D is definitely enough electrically for an i5 and GTX 560 Ti. You'll need to use a power adapter for the graphics card, but it should come with one, according to Palit's website. Most graphics card models do.

wait omg silentrig prices are much better considering what you get...
How much was the assembly cost from multitronic?
