You don't need more than a 400w PSU.. That SSD isn't suggested, Samsung 830 or Crucial m4 are. That mobo definitely isn't suggested, asrock pro3 or p8p67 tend to be the better budget choices. Case overkill imo. Everything fits together though.

CX430 is okay for $17 after mail in rebate if you want to use an PCIe to molex adapter for your 6870.

Would using the PCIe to molex adapter be detrimental in any way? Does it come with the CX430 or would i have to buy it on the side?
I'm just trying to understand if its better to spend the $40 more on the PSU you listed over using the CX430 with that adapter.

OS: Already have it

Most 6870s will include it, and if you have yours already, you can see if it's included =P If it's not, they don't cost a ton:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812196870

And no it's not detrimential unless you run out of molex cables(you shouldn't with that setup).

I definitely would go with the cx430 at just 17$ after MIR.

Given the following components,

CPU: Intel Core i5 2320
Memory: 10GB DDR3
HDD: 2 x 2TB
Optical: 16x DVD burner
Graphics: ATI HD6570
PSU: 300W
Others: 10 x USB2.0 ; 2 x USB3.0 ; Keyboard + Mouse included, Windows 7 included, Case included

Assume the most mediocre typical brands for the above components, would it be worth $799.99 CAD (roughly 576 Euros)

(edit: case included)

How would this one compare? I'm more of an Intel/ATI guy.

It's worth like $525 if new including Windows and everything, but excluding the hard drives since those are hard to give a value to. (And that's by the price of components; if you wanted a gaming build, you could get better performance with less money by getting a worse CPU and better GPU) How much is disk space worth to you right now? Hard drive prices are currently like 150-300% of typical because of floods in Thailand, and it will be that way for at least several months.

With current pricing, 4TB of storage is more like $300 by itself, since it's probably slower 5400 rpm models.

Here's my current build. I was going to wait a bit but Micro Center had a great deal today so I picked up the MoBo/i5 today

Processor-Intel i5 2500k
Motherboard- AsRock Z68 Pro3-M
Memory- w/e 8g 1600
Case-??
Power Supply-corsair/seasonic modular
HD-??
Video Card-GeForce GTX 560 Ti (evga/msi)
DVD Drive- w/e

Any recommendations as to what power supply? I guess the biggest thing I don't know much about are SSDs. I have a 1TB external and a few other internals so I can get away with a much smaller SSD than I would normally want. Any good recommendations for 80-120 GB SSDs that aren't completely outrageously priced?

Also how will the MoBo be? I did a bit of research but this is my first build from scratch.
I have a question...

It's not necessarily for heavy gaming, perhaps I'd guess casual/light gaming. Although HD movies in 1920x1080 is preferred so I guess that'd fall under a more high end vid card regardless.

Disk space is extremely important, I regret not buying a hard drive when prices were <$90 for a cavier black 1TB

I had a feeling that "deal" wasn't worth it, but didn't realize it was $250+ not worth it

Newegg had the Xigmatek Dark knight CPU cooler for 10 dollars after rebate earlier.

Is there anywhere else I can maybe get it? Been looking, just wondering if anyone else has seen it.

Else Im just gonna hop on the 212. I was probably going to end up doing that anyway but Xigmateks rebates are pretty terrible according to a lot of people.

UPDATE: To specify.

Well actually it might be worth it as those HDDs are so costly new -.- but consider the one I linked

Hey TL,
I am finally going to man up and do my own build. The Black Friday newegg deals require me to do so.
I want a computer to play Starcraft 2 on basically. I bought it day one and have not had much fun with my woefully incapable laptop. I am at around $560 dollars and would not mind that number going down.
I really appreciate any tips and advice.

I need a graphics card to go with and critic if you want as well. Im trying to stay under 750, so if you can find better or cheaper parts iid appreciate it. My upgrade cycle is about 4-5 years, I like to play skyrim and bf3 on decent settings. Resolution is 1920x1080( i usually dont play on this resolution though, around 1680x1050) I plan on building it pretty soon while the holidays are still around. No overclock. I'd like to buy all my parts from newegg. Thanks.

If you aren't planning on OCing, why are you buying a Z68 mobo?

Similar case for less: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119216

If you don't need much space, it's best to get an SSD now. The Samsung 830 64gb for $95 is a good deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147502

The Intel 320 SSDs, $1 per GB are also good deals if you don't mind dealing with a mail in rebate. 80gb for $160 ($80 after mail in rebate) and also a $10 gift card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167048

Buying memory for over $30 during Black Friday / Cyber Monday is a poor decision. GSkill Ripjaws X 1600MHz 8gb kit is available for $30: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428

AMD is a horrible decision. What made you pick one of their processors is beyond me. The core i5 2500k is for $200 and will destroy it: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=57962&promoid=1055 Pair it with a Asrock P67 Pro3 for $120: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157230

Though I'm not sure why you are pairing a relatively expensive processor with such a weak graphics card. If you want to lower the total than you should be getting a Pentium G850 / 860 or Core i3 2100 ($110: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115078 ) and pairing either of those with a H61 or H67 motherboard instead. These will still outperform the Phenom II X6 in gaming.

You never specified what settings you want to play Starcraft II on or what resolution you play on but I'm going to assume you know that the 6570 is a relatively weak card and you picked it because you will only be playing on low/medium or you are playing at a low resolution.

Power supply choice is also garbage. Corsair CX430 V2 for $37 ($(17 after mail in rebate) is a much better choice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026

You didn't list pricing or specified the total and I don't have time to bother with tallying the price up right now so sorry.

Your configuration basically sucks.

The 690ii Advanced is a better case and is less expensive at $69 ($49 after mail in rebate): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119216

GSkill 2x4GB 1600MHz for $30: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428

You'll want a K suffix processor such as the core i5 2500k if you will be overclocking for $200: http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=57962&promoid=1055 If you are not overclocking than you can step down to a H61 or H67 motherboard.

Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti for $200 ($180 after mail in rebate): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125401

There are many quality power supply sales going on. The suggested Antec Earthwatts 430D is not one of them nor is the Corsair TX650 one of them either. Newegg is just clearing old stock of the TX650.

Get the OCZ ZS 650 and a DVD burner for $75 ($50 after mail in rebate): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341048

So I ended up purchasing the Dark knight for $0.00 after mail in rebates.

I figured since no one here could shoot a hole through it then I might as well give it a shot and find out how free it is going to be in about 6 months or so.

Well there was shipping but thats all.

What's the cheapest motherboard compatible with Bulldozers that can overclock a FX-4100 with voltage tweaks? Multiple options if possible.

Anyone know? What chipset?
