OK, here are 3 critical graphs comparing the two.

Is 25 bucks worth *points to graphs* THAT? That is what it comes down to.
I don't have an enormous resolution so, no it isnt. Better bus width only affords me frames I will never get to see because my monitor is only 60 hz.
See the difference in Crysis? Less than a frame apart in the 1050 graph, but 5 frames in the highest resolution at the bottom.

^ Well, do you remember that past comparison that shows that 6950 in specific has a significant drop going from 16x to 8x? Would kind of... require the same kind of stats for every card.

I wish that toms hardware test used lower end cards so i can get a better read on the situation.
Like 5770's or something.
I have to say that high resolutions punishing users of lower modes makes a lot of sense to me overall. Lesser resolutions intuitively need the bus lane a lot less, and are not overly bound by the lane size.
Well that was fun. I know I learned something.

Is $190 a good price for a 5770? I haven't yet found a GTX 460 so i might go for that one if it's good enough in comparison

No. I can find a 5770 for like 90 bucks.

Ok, thanks for the advice
Edit: also, how exactly does MIR work? And, what is the difference if any from a 5770 and a 6770?

Uhm, what part of Mexico are you in? Do you have any relatives on this side of the Texas border? Seriously dude, that price is fucking obscene as hell. If all the components are priced that bad, you'd probably save money with a plane ticket and a trip to Fry's.

Unfortunately, Mexico City, where a trip to US would cost me about 500$ and a US Visa which is actually quite hard to get here But i'll keep checking, something good must come out in the end.
Edit: Removed unnecesary quote.

They are almost the exact same damn thing. In fact they are so close, you can even Crossfire them together.

"Well, the HD 6770/50 are slightly different, insofar as they have the very last Unified Video Decoder (UVD) block present in the silicon. Version 3 enables DisplayPort v1.2, HDMI 1.4a, and hardware-based acceleration for Multi-View (MVC, Blu-ray 3D) DivX and Xvid codecs."
Thats all folks.

edit: oh nevermind 6770 apparently had a power usage increase... though I don't know how that makes sense <_<

They have the same hardware, exact same hardware, so temperature and power consumption are up to the manufacturer. Though it would make sense that they would have improved there manufacturing methods in the time between the two generations.

Quick question: What's the difference between HD audio module and AC'97?
|
HD is newer, you should be using HD.

So I think i should get a x16 x4 since i'm on a tight budget, which one should I get? The previous one suggested had a lot of complaints.

What resolution are you running at. I posted a graph up above that shows exactly what the situation is.
It depends on your needs whether or not it is worth it. For me, since I play at 1680x1050, I don't see much of a benefit from higher bandwidth in the second slot. And my monitor is 60 hz so I don't care about frames I will never see anyway.

Worth 25 dollars to you? Maybe, but you aren't even Crossfiring at the moment right? Your call, there is no wrong answer really. Its not like you bought some 300 dollar monster motherboard.
