Not that there's really any major use for them at any sane voltage. But RAM stability suffers due to increased volatility with higher temps. And again, people, don't go citing this as a reason to get heatsinks, no sane voltage needs them. The damage temps tend to be pretty high, like 85-90C, so instability is really all most people will get from heat. And that requires some effort.

Assembling yourself isn't difficult since there are plenty of helpful tutorials and easy instructions you can find, and parts generally only fit one way (the correct way). If you do it yourself, you will have a little more experience in the future and will be $50 richer. If you get them to assemble, you will save a couple hours time and probably have a slightly lower chance of getting a part DOA. Is that worth $50 to you?

The thing that concerns me most about building a computer from scratch is the software part of it. I was told theres a lot of things to run/test in the BIOS while I'm building and it seems daunting to someone who's never done it before.

Headphonic is Australia's specialised headphone store. Chuck us a post in the forums and the staff and owner would be glad to give you a recommendation. http://headphones.com.au/ If it were me, I'd give the SRH840's a look. http://headphones.com.au/psingle?productID=446 Even the SRH440's are a good pick http://headphones.com.au/psingle?productID=445 thanks bro, ill defo check it out Sennheiser HD 280 should be good for you then, though it clamps hard to do so. Beyerdynamic DT 770 M isolates even more, but that's more expensive. The normal DT 770 versions isolate well, but apparently that one isolates even better. However, keep in mind that deep-insertion IEMs (canalphones) have better isolation than any fullsize headphone. The Etymotics above are IEMs. Most Etymotics have better isolation than most other IEMs. are there any health/hearing problems related to using these canalphones? im usually pretty good with deep insertions but i dont want to damage my eardrums or anything like that

What is your budget? My price range is $700-$800 USD What is your resolution? The monitor I am using is 1600x900 but I will probably be purchasing a new monitor sometime next year with a higher resolution. What are you using it for? The only game I play is starcraft 2 but I am thinking about diablo 3 in the future; would really like to play 4v4 on high or ultra. Besides this I mostly use my computer for youtube, skype, c++, and matlab. I won't be doing anything like photoshop or video editing. What is your upgrade cycle? My upgrade cycle is a bit on the long side I don't think I will be looking into upgrades for at least 2 years. When do you plan on building it? I'm hoping to build it within the next 2-4 weeks. Do you plan on overclocking? I will not be overclocking Do you need an Operating System? I have a copy of Win7 Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? I will not be adding on a second GPU. Where are you buying your parts from? I have a Fry's nearish where I live (San Diego, USA) I have also purchased from Newegg before. If there are any other nearby computer places or websites please let me know. Thank you for your assistance.

Hopefully if all my summer jobs come together, something around the £2000-2500 region. What is your resolution? 2 monitors at the moment, main is 1920x1080 and second is 1650x1050 What are you using it for? Gaming, streaming, some photoshop and maybe some 3D rendering, What is your upgrade cycle? Definitely on the longer side, 2+ for sure. When do you plan on building it? Mid-end of August. Do you plan on overclocking? Probably not. I'm hoping that the system will be beefy enough to not require it (and i'm not enough of an enthusiast to do it for the sake of doing it ^^). Do you need an Operating System? Nope, already sorted. Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? I was looking at the 590 but heard 2x580's would give a noticable improvement in performance, but i'll leave that up to you guys! If you choose a single card, I wouldn't add another. Where are you buying your parts from? I usually use www.overclockers.co.uk - dabs.com or ebuyer.com would also be fine I think. No good local computer shops here though, will all have to be online. Thanks alot guys!

There's the two benched. Unless you do a lot of AA/AF on games at that resolution, you won't see much benefit from the added memory, so really it comes down to drivers with the games you play or plan to play. Although there is the possibility (only possibility) of flashing a 2GB 6950 to a 6970, at which point it's definitely better. 560 Ti, on the other hand, OC's like a madman, if you wanted extra performance at a lower risk threshold than flashing the card.
