Also, I've been looking at that mobo. I can't for the life of me find where the hell I'd put my PSU on that thing. Maybe I'm just being stupid and completely inept as usually.

The motherboard has a 24pin connector and 4pin connector which your power supply plugs into.

Yeah I see those, but I dont know where I'm going to put the clunky fucker itself. Like the actual box.

so i bought an asus rog laptop and it was the suck, so now i am trying to move back to pc and to dell The price is:$2,058.00 with monitor Questions: 1 Will this run sc2 good? and by good i mean will it run on high settings, with high resolution with good framerates? 2 what matters more with gpus, memory or SLI/crossfire? Should i buy one gpu with large memory like 2 gb, or buy a crossfire 1gb each (im assuming ati because my nvidia was a fucking bitch to update the drivers for)? 3 any other suggestions you might have on how to change the build to make it better any comments about why dell/alienware/corporations are expensive are not helpful, i don't know jack about computers, or how to put them together, and even if i did i can't get them mailed to me piece by piece without the parts getting stolen, so unless you want to route me to a better corp just comment on this please if i did something ultra nobby here then i understand if i should be banned for stupidity, just thought i would ask here cuz there seems to be intelligent people and i feel like if i had asked b4 buying that asus i would have been told it was not meant for sc2 PROCESSOR Intel® Core™ i7-2600 (8MB Cache) Overclocked Turbo Boost to 3.9GHz OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64Bit, English CHASSIS COLOR Matte Stealth Black Chassis with 875W Multi-GPU Approved Power Supply MEMORY 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz VIDEO CARD Dual 1GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon™ HD 6870 HARD DRIVE 2TB (2x 1TB) SATA II (3Gb/s) 7,200RPM (2x 32MB Cache) MONITOR 21.5” Alienware AW2210 OptX™ Full HD Gaming Monitor SOUND CARD Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio WIRELESS & BLUETOOTH 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 EDR USB Combo Adapter OPTICAL DRIVE Single Drive: Dual Layer Blu-ray Reader (BD-ROM, DVD±RW, CD-RW) My Software & Accessories ALIENFX AlienFX Color, Quasar Blue OS CUSTOMIZATION Alienhead 3D KEYBOARD Alienware Multi-Media Keyboard MOUSE Alienware Optical Mouse, MG100 My Accessories SERVICE PLAN 2 Year Basic Service Plan, DMLP ONLINE DATA BACKUP DataSafe 2.0 Online Backup 2GB for 1 year ALSO INCLUDED WITH YOUR SYSTEM Alienware Aurora-R3 Alienware Aurora Desktop COOLING OPTION Alienware™ High-Performance Liquid Cooling Adobe Reader Software Adobe® Acrobat® Reader Edit: Forgot to ask: Is integrated audio useful or should i get the soundcard?

My budget is 700$ USD. I am looking to purchase a new motherboard, PSU, CPU, and GPU and plan to overclock. My last mobo was ASUS and lasted me a longtime so I have a preference for that, unless you can recommend me something better or equivalent. I also prefer Intel and Nvidia. My resolution is 1920x1200. I intend to use the computer for gaming: Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, and various FPS. I would prefer to be able to play on Ultra or settings smoothly. I haven't upgraded for 5 years, but I think it should be able to last me in the next 2-3 years. I live in the United States and shopping from newegg or fry's would be the most convienient. I currently have: Case: Antec P182 Gun Metal Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Sound: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro 7.1 Currently, I've chosen: CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Mobo: ASRock P67 EXTREME4 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel PSU: Rosewill BRONZE Series RBR1000-M 1000W

Yes, that's all you need. @yourteam Yes, that configuration will be capable of running Starcraft II on high and all other games as well. No offense but if you can't handle updating Nvidia drivers which are extremely easy, you're going to have headaches dealing with a multi-GPU solution such as CrossfireX since this depends totally on drivers. Some games don't support it while others are poorly optimized so your performance will be very incosinstant with two cards as opposed to one stronger card. You want to have 2GB cards in CrossfireX if you are going to be dealing with Eyefinity but if you're buying a Dell, you most likely aren't dealing with Eyefinity. A dual GPU configuration is pointless at a resolution of 1920x1200. What do you plan on doing with the 2x 1TB HDDs? Is this for RAID 1? A 870w power supply is unnecessary but you probably don't have a choice in the matter with shitty Dell. A core i7 2600 is unnecessary for gaming since games only utilize two cores and very few take advantage of four cores. A sound card is only necessary if you have an expensive sound system. The integrated sound card is adequate for many people. @ieatpasta Do you already have DDR3 memory? DDR2 and DDR3 aren't interchangeable. Do you plan on doing SLI? Even if you are, a 1000w power supply is not necessary. A 650w power supply is more than adequate for mid-range SLI. With regards to the drivers, nvidias auto update wouldn't work with w7 so i had to port them in through vista and it was just a big hassle and annoyed the shit out of me that they wouldn't update them to format with the current OS, but i think you might still say this is "extremely easy" from your standpoint, although it was not for me and i am not offended at all by what you said. your response there is exactly what i need to know and i wont get crossfire now becuz i have no idea what eyefinity is or anything else you said in that paragraph. curiously, why are dual gpus useless for 1920/1200? the hd set up was the cheapest one. below i have pasted in their options for gpus and hds, what do you suggest? That's strange that 2x 1TB HDDs is the least expensive option. But it's fine to go with the least expensive option as long as the HDD is 7200 RPM. Either get a GTX 560 Ti or Radeon HD6950 2GB. A multi-GPU configuration is useless for 1920x1200 because most single graphic card solutions can handle the game already at reasonably high settings at this resolution.

So here are my current specs as of tomorrow when the parts arrive: ATX H61 Mobo Intel Pentium G620 2.6Ghz Dual Core 500GB 7200RPM HDD 2x2GB DDR3 RAM 450W 12V PSU 1024x768 Res monitor I'm assuming I should focus on upgrading my monitor next, eh? I really am used to, and almost prefer smaller resolutions after playing on some widescreen monitors. Can anyone recommend me a solid monitor? Something bigger than 1280x1024, at least. But I do not by any means want to get some widescreen 16 : 9 monitor. I don't have the finances nor the preference for those.
