Once you've done this. Remove a stick of memory so you only have one installed. Turn on computer and see if it still happens. If it does, take the stick and move it to another slot. Repeat for the second stick of memory or until the problem is gone. You don't have to donate anything but thanks anyways.

Checking the GPU tempurature, it seems to peak at 60 degrees C, which should be fine shouldn't it? Memtest is saying the memory is fine. It hasn't happened again and I was playing SC2 for about 5 hours or so earlier. Wondering if it was just a freak thing? Does that happen?

60c is fine. If it hasn't happened again than I wouldn't worry about it. @FearTheReaperMan Unplug the graphics card and try using on-board to see if you make any further progress. Your problem definitely sounds like hardware related though.

I am leaning towards this over the Twin Frozr since they offer lifetime warranty, but it seems that the Twin Frozr runs cooler and is quieter compared to the EVGA version. My Sapphire 4770 is quite audible at 100%, not to mention I have four 120mm and a single 140mm in my case(All running at 100%). At relative idle periods the card is around 40-44C and usually goes up to 55C+ underload, which seems fine considering its getting really humid and warm here. When it gets too warm for my comfort I usually just underclock it with Overdrive. Antec 300 Illusion Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 i5 760 @ stock Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 1066 Sapphire 4770 512MB @ 800/820 Antec TP 650W 3 HDD Spinpoint F3/Hitachi edit: I have a CM 212+ sitting on my shelf which I will dedicate to during the summer. are you serious? you get 55C under load? i have the 560 TI (brand new) and I get 90 Celsius when I play Crysis 2.

I got a higher watt psu, but it is still earthwatt, I figure it will help if I decide to upgrade anything, and it would freak me out using a 350 watt but other than that everything is pretty much identical to the build you made for me, thanks for the help, I'll post pictures once its put together.

I try not to reach 70C+ even though these cards can do well over that. I had a few times forgot to readjust my fan speeds when I notice my card was reaching 75C underload. D: I never done any reliable stress tests honestly. Those temperatures are cautious - but not necessarily dangerous - levels. But only if it's a CPU. And only if it's on a laptop. And only if all of your cooling methods have been exhausted. And only if you want absolutely maximum life out of it. Fortunately, it is a graphics card in a desktop, and you could easily add in fans to keep it cool, so you're golden XD Go ahead and overclock that sucker, if you're getting such low temperatures ![]()

For all we know, he could be playing in the middle of a sauna. Either way, I think he's got an EVGA card which has the squirrel cage blower. Airflow isn't going to change anything, its going to be ambient temperature which is partly why all stock cards use this type of blower. Not everyone has access to windtunnels but they do have access to air conditioners.

Actually, airflow can affect the EVGA EE model temps a bit, although moreso in SLI. There's a few ways it can end up mattering. If your PSU fan is forced to face up for whatever reason, and if you have fans blowing in from the side, like with a Lanboy Air case. Side fans help a lot with SLI configurations since it's hard to get air moving in between dual slots otherwise. Even so, Ambient is still much more important, yes.

If you're going to strap a billion fans on your case to cool a centrifugal fan, you might as well take the shroud off and ziptie 120mm fans onto it.

If you're going to strap a billion fans on your case to cool a centrifugal fan, you might as well take the shroud off and ziptie 120mm fans onto it. Nah, the Lanboy Air has other reasons for the zillion fans, too, I was just pointing out the bizarre exceptions to the rule. I'm actually still astonished that the whole positive pressure=low dust thing actually works pretty well. Kinda nice having a semi-open case, works well for a hot air-cooled rig like mine. It's not so great for huge OC's, since it doesn't direct airflow for optimal cooling to any one part of your system, but it works well for mild OC's and Multi-GPU. And of course, it's a cool gimmick case, if you're willing to drop $200 on a case that's only slightly above average for cooling performance.
