You can't drag and drop files. You have to use software such as the one included in Windows, Sony Nero, or ImgBurn to burn it to the disc. And you shouldn't be unraring it either.

Original Message From ITOP: Hi, I just joined the TL and I couldn't make threads until 3days pass so I decidede to PM the most dedicated person from replys. I was reading all of the computer building threads in this site for over a week but still I have no brain for any computer build nor name stuffs. I have Moniter, Mouse, Keyboard, Speaker, and all the wires for moniter, power stuffs. The only thing that holds me back from building desktop is, replys on threads people say it's very "LOUD"... I want the computer that has no (smallest) sound.. I hope I am not expecting too much with my budget. so 2things I want from new desktops 1: Fastest Operating of playing SC2 with medium setting + skype + music on 2 : Small sound from computer... ( 3 : I also want to prepare Diablo3 if possible ) Can you help me out with this please? thanks. What is your budget? - Total $500 ~ 600 US (including OS) What is your resolution? 19'' WideScreen 1440 x 900 Max. Res What are you using it for? StarCraft2, Streaming, + I use skype while playing. Diablo3. Medium setting. (For High setting, how much more do I need?) What is your upgrade cycle? - 2+ years When do you plan on building it? - ASAP Do you plan on overclocking? -No thank you Do you need an Operating System? -Yes, I do need OS price around $100. (I do not know which OS is best for... people say it's all same but I still want best choice from you xD) Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? - Not sure... I would say "yes" if it is good in future + not much difference in price wise from ordering motherboard that does not have more outputs. Where are you buying your parts from? - I live in Colorado, here is no Fry's, microcenter, newegg nearby. So I guess any places.

Where are you buying your parts from? - I live in Colorado, here is no Fry's, microcenter, newegg nearby. So I guess any places. Antec One Hundred ATX Mid Tower Case - $55 Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM Hard Drive - $40 EVGA nVidia GTS 450 - $115 G.Skill 2x2GB DDR3 RAM - $40 Antec EarthWatts 380W PSU - $40 Windows 7 Home Premium OEM - $100 From there on out, it's all about selecting a processor and motherboard. I saw streaming was on your list of things you were going to do, so a quad-core is most likely your best bet. Intel Core i5-2400 - $190 ASRock H61 Motherboard - $60 That comes to about $640 before shipping and the $20 rebate from the GTS 450. It doesn't come with a DVD drive, though. You can also get a Saphire Radeon 5670 for about $70, too, although it provides much less performance than the GTS 450. It would put you within your budget at $600 before shipping. If you can get your hands on a cheaper copy of Windows 7 (i.e. if you have a .edu email address, or can ask somebody to use theirs), then that would save you $70.

http://www.frys.com/catreq/-1736 I was recommended the Hyper Tx3, but I need to use up a Fry's gift card so I was wondering if there's a decent alternative on here that isn't too big. I've heard good things about the Hyper 212+, but I don't know if that will fit into my case ( Sonata II @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129155)

3.3GHz Intel Core i5-2500K £160 Motherboard Asus P8P67 £120 Memory 4GB 1,600MHz DDR3 £40 Graphics Card MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC £190 PSU Antec TruePower New 650W £90 CPU Cooler Thermaltake Frio £40 Case (UK) Fractal Design Define R3 £80 Optical drive SATA DVD-RW £15 Storage (HDD) 1TB Samsung SpinPoint F3 £40 Storage (SSD) 64GB Crucial RealSSD C300 £100 Sound Card Asus Xonar DS £40 However I have had other tell me it's not worth it for the 560 over the 460 - a £50 saving. Are they right? Similarly for the i5 over the i7? My current (dead) setup is(was) this: MSI K9AG Neo2-Digital Socket AM2 690V and SB600 Chipset 8channel audio HDMI and DVI out ATX AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3GHz) Socket AM2 L2 2MB (2 x 1MB) Cache OEM Processor BFG 8800GTX OC2 768MB GDDR3 Dual DVI HDTV Out HDCP enabled PCI-E Graphics Card 4 GB Kingston Ddr2 800mhz/pc2-6400 The graphics card is the main thing that has kicked the bucket. I have this absurd zalman fan: Zalman CNPS9700 It's huge, copper, and so heavy my current pc has to sit on its side, else it pulls the processor out - blame one of my friends at uni for this monstrosity. Basically - is there anything I can/should salvage from my current setup for making my new one? I've had this for 4 years and it's been fine until imploding last week, so I'm completely out of the loop. As implied by the pounds - I'm a brit, I don't know if that makes any difference though. much <3 everyone.

ditch the 650w psu for something like an antec neo eco 450w i5-2500k is fine i dont really like the 460, how much does the 6850 cost? both the 6850 and 560ti are fantastic cards, if you have the money to spare, you can spend it on the 560ti id get a different case, something like a coolermaster storm scout or haf 912 does your old build have an optical drive you can rip out?

Salvage the Zalman CNPS9700 and install it properly (or its the mounting system damaged?) in your new motherboard, assuming it supports LGA1156/1155. There are CPU coolers like double the weight of that, I've got a Noctua one that is like the size of my head. The impression I get from Bit Tech is that they generally prefer nVidia cards over AMD cards; really get whatever offers the right performance/cost for you. What video card you should get depends on what games you play and the resolution of your monitor. The good things from the Bit Tech build you suggested: - Processor. Probably the best Price/Performance processor you can get if you are going to overclock it. - Case. Its a pretty good case but the build quality is deceiving because the bad metalwork is salvaged by the thick bitumen material. - Hard Drive. There isn't anything wrong and its generally cheap as chips. - Motherboard. You need a P67 board to overclock so... The OK: - Memory. Only get 1,600mhz memory if its the same price or cheaper than 1,333mhz memory. Ideally, the cheapest DDR3 memory is what you should get. - Sound card. Onboard sound is good enough these days that you don't need a sound card. - CPU Cooler. Its a good cooler but why you need one marginally better, yet a bit more expensive, than the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ I don't know. Bad: - PSU. Its probably for a SLI system in the near future but its far too much for one card. Single GPU systems only need 500W max...you can get away with around 400W easily with how power efficient Sandy Bridge is.

I kinda agree with you on the sound card actually - thinking about it my old one never worked, and I always used the onboard. My monitor is... an hdtv. This hdtv to be precise, the LG 32LH3000 : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001UHMT4C/ref=oss_product I know it's completely over the top, but it means I can happily have my ps3 in my room and play it from my bed. As for games: dota, LoL, SC2, will be D3, and witcher 2/ dota 2 when it comes out. I tend to go back repeatedly to dota (the ancient) but play quite a few shiny new games when they come out, and I like pretty graphics. My old build has a dvd/rw I can happily scavenge, it's never given me problems. Mounting system is fine on my zalman afaik - it just seemed to pull out the processor/warp the mobo so it shut down instantly when current pc was on its side. Thanks a lot guys, making what has been a fairly crappy week less stressful.

I'm thinking the beep may be for the absence of GPU. Thoughts? ty Robert

Besides the fact you're spending more on something you'll never use, power supplies tend to hit peak efficiency at around 50-75% load so getting a 650W power supply when you only consume 250W max is not only a waste of money but bad for efficiency. You probably want a GTX560 Ti or the HD6950. Doesn't really matter though, pick whatever you think might be better because the performance isn't really going to be significantly different.
