So guys, the graphics card you guys listed for me has been bugging me. MSI GTX 560 (Fermi)
It lacks the "Ti" in the name, and has a slightly slower (10MHz) difference than the one listed on MSI's website MSI GTX 560 TI (Fermi), which also has a few specs that aren't even listed for the top one. Another thing is that I can't even find any information on a 560 GTX non-Ti card; I'm tempted to think it's a mislabel, but at a $25 price difference I'm really curious. Also, it's not listed on nVidia's site, MSI's site, and only shows up for retailers; but it's not just Newegg, it's several different places.
Anybody know the difference? I really prefer to know what it is I'm buying before I buy it.

You can adjust the base clock on the H61 / H67 chipsets if you want to call that overclocking...

Er didn't even notice that. Don't get that card. Either get the original GTX 560 (TI) or GTX 460.
The GTX 560 (non TI) is just a rebranded / retweaked GTX 460. Really starting to hate Nvidia right now...

edit: damn, late on my awesome-o writeup+ Show Spoiler +note: shaders here = CUDA cores (official name by Nvidia)
GTX 560 non-Ti was just released. It's slower than the GTX 560 Ti, but not by a huge amount. It's pretty much exactly as fast as a GTX 460 would be at the same clock speed.
Details: GTX 460 uses the GF104 chip, which has 384 shaders. However, 48 of them are disabled in the GTX 460, so you only get 336. They're disabled because of yields--manufacturing complex circuits on bleeding-edge semiconductor tech is complicated and impurities occur. A partially defective chip can be partially disabled but still usable. Even though I'm sure some GTX 460 samples are perfectly fine, they're configured to be the same for retail uniformity. The GTX 460 SE actually had further shaders disabled so it only used 288.
GTX 560 Ti uses the GF114 chip, which is pretty much the same as the GF104 with 384 shaders, but with some tweaks to what transistors are used, which improve power consumption. All 384 shaders are available. The new GTX 560 (non-Ti) has 48 disabled, so you get 336 shaders. So functionally it's a GTX 460 1GB with a little lower power consumption given the same frequency and voltage.
So it's not worth $225 compared to the GTX 560 Ti at $240 (especially if you count it as $220 after MIR): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681412756

Wow, glad I caught that. Sneaky bastards :|
Thanks for the confirm. Would have sucked if I got the wrong one!
EDIT: Mrymidon, "late" would be four days from now after I've already potentially made a bad decision. Five minutes is awesome no matter how you look at it!

Yeah essentially this is a way to dump many of the GF114 chips that didn't meet spec to be put in GTX 560 Ti cards. Also to screw consumers through marketing different products with essentially the same name.

Does it work properly in games? If so, don't worry about it because the Windows Experience Index is useless. I've tested it with a lot of different GPUs and it tends to cause their drivers to crash annoyingly enough.

big thanks to skyR and Myrmidon and others for helping me get my first rig. Typing from my new comp, beastly comp for 500 i5 2400 hd 5850 Asrock h61m-vs 4gb g.skill ripjaw 1tb seagate lg dvd drive antec neo eco 450c antec 300

Could I get some post computer build help? I was wondering if I should tweak any of my settings. should I tweak my 560 ti? should I turn on turbo boost on my intel i5-2400? any voltage changes? I think the fans are fine, but maybe I should turn up the case fans, cpu, and gpu fans? Thank you! I have never dealt with such programs before so I want to make sure before I accidentally blow my rig up.

@Golgotha
Turbo boost is on by default, there is no tweaking involved.
I'm not sure what your final configuration ended up being but you cannot overclock any processor on the h61 / h67 chipsets.
I'm not sure if these are default settings or incorrect readings or you decided to increase the clock speeds without research but you need to reset all settings on your graphics card back to default. A 63c idle temp and 1800MHz core clock are serious problems that may damage your graphics card.

Hey so I built my computer and it turned on and worked, but I realized my Hard Drive is an IDE connection and the motherboard doesn't haev a slot for that. Then I looked my Hard drive up on google and found that apparently it does have SATA capability? its a Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKB. So I looked at this picture
![[image loading]](http://images17.newegg.com/is/image/newegg/22-136-111-Z03?$S300W$) And I was wondering which part I am supposed to connect to for SATA? The middle slot I guess, but I don't know if I have the wires for that.
right now on the left I have something connected to the far left slot that is connected to a molex which is linked physically (but not connected) to a molex leading to the power source and also a cable that is labeled "P7" (rectangle with 4 squares on it), and on the far right I have the IDE cable but it is not connected to anything.

I'm looking to build a PC. Any advice is appreciated.
Budget: $2000-2500 (CAD)
Resolution: 1680x1050. I am also planning to purchase another computer monitor with higher resolution. This is not included in the budget. Feel free to suggest a monitor.
Use: I'll be using this computer just for gaming. I have no intentions of streaming, using photoshop, or using it for anything besides gaming.
Upgrade Cycle: My upgrade cycle is usually around 2 years or so. My current computer is around 2 years old. My budget is higher because I want to build a really nice gaming PC that will last me awhile.
Overclocking: I have never overclocked before. Since I don't have any experience in doing so I probably won't be overclocking.
OS: I already have an OS. (Win7 ultimate)
SLI: Since my budget is around 2000-2500, I want to have two graphics card in this new pc. But if you feel that one is enough or even better, than I am fine with just one graphics card.
Store: I'll be purchasing these parts from my local Tiger direct.
Other: This computer is from scratch. I'll need every part, including a case, a cooling system, etc. Any help on providing a list for this rig would be appreciated. If you have any more questions to ask, feel free. Thanks

The "middle slot" is for jumpers to configure it for Master/Slave. You can, however, purchase a cheap sata/ide adapter.

It doesn't have SATA. From left to right is the power, jumper and IDE connectors. Where does it say this drive has SATA? You're probably looking at another version. The model number is more important than the name, since the number also tells how current the drive is.
