This is an amazing deal, considering the processor alone goes for $230 on newegg even. The hard drive is usually worth around $60.

I'd hurry though, I imagine stock at that price won't last.

What is your budget? 700$ before shipping. + Show Spoiler + What is your resolution? For now 1280x1024 If a monitor with a better resolution costs under 150$ I may upgrade to that in the near future What are you using it for? Gaming What is your upgrade cycle? 2 ish years When do you plan on building it? within 1 to 2 weeks depending on how soon I can afford it. Do you plan on overclocking? No Do you need an Operating System? Yes, unless sc2 can run fairly well on ubuntu, but I would prefer having a OS worked in to the budget. Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? No Where are you buying your parts from? NCIXUS, or Newegg If I get it from ncixus I will do the 50$ construction option, if its newegg I will attempt to build it myself. I have some tech savvy friends who can help actually put it together.

The first build was awesome, the only problem was when I went to check it out the price shot up to 800+ from shipping and then a few of the surprise deals left and also pushed it up. Do you think this is a decent build? Just use Myrmidon's as a baseline. Replace the GTX 560 & CX500 combo with a XFX Radeon 6850 for $167 ($147 after mail in rebate): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150505 and a Antec Earthwatts 380w for $45: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371033 Add Windows 7 for $100: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986 That should bring your total to $712. This is before mail in rebates, factoring in mail in rebates would bring the total to $682.

Best would be to actually solder the ends back together, but since you asked, I'm going to assume you don't have an iron handy. You need to make sure that the copper on both sides of the frayed wire is firmly touching. Probably you're going to have to peel back the insulation on both sides a bit so you can expose some of the metal, and then wrap the metal ends around each other. You can tape up the resulting mess, but I wouldn't be confident that it would hold up over time. You can always still turn on the computer by taking a screwdriver (any metal) and touching the two pins that the power button cables are supposed to plug into. That does the same thing as pushing the power button (close the circuit). If you want, you may be able to RMA the case and get it replaced. That sounds more annoying than getting a cheap iron though. A super cheapo iron and solder for something simple like this is like $10.

o o x o edit: wait actually you probably want this instead, though they're equivalent o o x x The case power button cables should normally be connected across where the two x are marked. You made sure the power supply was plugged into the wall, in the I (not O) position, and you bridged the two pins marked by x with a metal screwdriver and it didn't turn on? One test to see if the power supply is dead (can only really confirm if it's dead and not that it works), try unplugging everything from the power supply but say a case fan. Then grab the motherboard 20+4 pin connector and then short together the green wire with any of the black wires (with the power supply switched to I and plugged in). That's the same power on signal as the case power button and the two x above.

It's suppose to be ( o o x x - ) according to your manual. x being power. LED headers often come come with 3 holes but only two of them have an actual connection. If you look closely, you can see this yourself.
