Yes, but I don't need this cooler just yet. Got some spare cash for that but ultimately I want it for when I save for some k i5 and OC it.
I'll think on it some more and see what I can scrap up.
Edit: What processors and mobos I have available in this price range (help me choose the best combination) from what I could get at the store (have to be this store) by the end of next week:
CPU
Intel Core i5-4570S, Quad Core, 2.90GHz, 6MB, LGA1150, 22nm, 65W, VGA, TRAY Intel Core i5-4570T, Dual Core, 2.90GHz, 4MB, LGA1150, 22mm, 35W, VGA, TRAY Intel Core i5-4570, Quad Core, 3.20GHz, 6MB, LGA1150, 22nm, 84W, VGA, BOX Intel Core i5-4570, Quad Core, 3.20GHz, 6MB, LGA1150, 22nm, 84W, VGA, TRAY
Mobo
ASRock B85M PRO4 ASRock B85 PRO4 ASRock Z87 PRO3 (more expensive) Gigabyte GA-B85M-HD3 Gigabyte GA-Z87M-HD3 (more expensive) MSI B85-G41 PC MATE MSI B85-G43 MSI B85M-P33
Also, what would be the minimum safe PSU output to run this with single HD7870 at full load? I think I can cut some corners on the PSU and just sell it later and get a better one when I'll be getting another gpu.
Edit: @Ropid (below): I'll keep that in mind

@Manit0u:
Please look at a different cooler. The Shadow Rock Pro SR1 looks good on paper, but it's inexplicably falling behind similar coolers in practice. This makes it a pretty bad choice with its rather high price.
You might get Zalman CNPS14x or Thermalright HR-02 Macho for cheaper. Both would be quite a bit stronger, good enough to make any upgrade not worth it when you go Intel and overclock in the future.
If you want to stay 120mm fan size, you could look at Thermalright True Spirit 120 or True Spirit 120M or Macho 120, Zalman CNPS10x Optima or Performa, CM Hyper 212 + or Evo, Scythe Mugen. All of those are cheaper than the Dark Rock Pro while still being better, I'm pretty sure. Some might be loud.

Intel Core i5-4570T, Dual Core, 2.90GHz, 4MB, LGA1150, 22mm, 35W, VGA, TRAY Arctic-Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 Gigabyte GA-B85M-HD3 Patriot 2 X 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM kit with Heatsink Western Digital Caviar Black, 3.5'', 1TB, SATA/600, 7200RPM, 64MB cache ASUS HD7870-DC2TG-2GD5-V2 Radeon HD 7870, 2GB DDR5 (256 Bit), HDMI be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER BQT E9-400W Carbide Series™ 300R Case
Managed to get this setup around the same price. Any other suggested tweaks?
|
the i5-4570T sucks, its basicly an i3 (2cores and hyperthreading) best go with an i5-4570
edit : and if you really want a setup to OC later on, why not get a G2020 and Z87 motherboard? that way you only have to change cpu and cooler, will cost you less

None of the pentiums are compatible with the 1150 socket motherboards yet.

Hey there,
Any recommendations for an SSD? I'd like 256gb (or higher if possible). My budget is 200 euros. I don't really know which SSD's are good so i'm asking here, I want to get the best of what's available in my budget. Thanks!
|
True true my bad, forgot...how stupid can i be sometimes, won't be here before september
Sorry if this has already been mentionned then, but why not get the k and Z87, use integrated for now, and get a dedicated gpu later on? It'll save you money in the longrun, or you could spend more later on a more powerfull gpu then you originally intended if you want to play more demanding games or w/e
For SSD, Crucial M4(older)/M500, Samsung Series 840/830(older), Intel, OCZ agility 4/vertex 4, Plextor
only take the older models if they're significantly cheaper (like 15% cheaper or more)

Hi again, Sorry for bugging you once more, but I'm having a hard time deciding on a motherboard for i5-3570k (mid tower atx case, need usb 3.0, decent onboard sound is a +; 1600mhz ram) in $100 price range. So far I think about going for this one @ $106: ASUS P8Z77-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard Amazon reviews were good but then i looked at newegg and they aren't so hot, so I'm not sure anymore..
Also what's the difference between i5-3570k and i5-4570k nm read that 4570k is on a different socket, not sure if it is worth it because I doubt that processor will be upgraded in next 3years. My budget for mobo + cpu is about $330, any recommendations? Sorry and thanks again, wanna make sure I make a good choice

There is no such thing as a 4570k, you either mean the 4570 or 4670k.
There is also no such thing as being more futureproof since LGA1150 will be dead soon.
For the 3570k, get the Asrock Z77 Extreme3 from Newegg for $85. If you want to do mail in rebates than there's the Gigabyte Z77 HD3, HD4, and MSI Z77 G45 for all under $110 before mail in rebates.
|
4670k, see why I need help? they might be overclocking later after all, but that's not a must have. Looking for a price efficient/stable i5 + mobo combo, whichever i5 you think is best.
I can afford the $110 options, if they are more reliable +$25 is no biggie. Which one would you recommend out of those choices? I'll be buying as soon as we settle on something so shouldn't bug you for much longer:D
|
I would just get the Asrock Z77 Extreme3 unless you're worried about their warranty. Otherwise I'd get Gigabyte. Though I would suggest just spending $30 more for a 4670k and Z87.
|
Which Z87 board would you suggest?
|
Thanks for the link, i bought it this morning. Hopefully arrives tomorrow
Thanks again for all the helps

Probably the Gigabyte Z87-HD3 or Z87M-D3H.
Are you just buying motherboard and processor, or every other component as well?

You bought a single 8 GB stick (send it back before you open it).
A 2x4GB kit enables "dual channel" mode and doubles memory bandwidth.

oh I bought it so they can later upgrade by adding another 8gb stick. Nothing was opened yet and since I doubt they will upgrade anytime soon should I get 2x4GB? crap they have this one on sale for $65. will make up for cost of return shipping http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-145-345

The kit will only use half the slots as there's four slots on a normal board so you can still upgrade later.
|
Will do thanks guys. Edit: just ordered everything, I'll let you know how it goes
