Logisys CS206BK Black ATX Tower Case 4X5.25 1X3.5 5X3.5IN w/ 400W 80mm Rear Fan Front USB Audio Combo of PSU + Case for 34.99$ That's probably the cheapest I can get right?
AMD A6-3500 APU w/ AMD Radeon 65XX HD GFX Triple Core Processor Socket FM1 2.1GHZ 3MB 65W Retail Box 63.92 if my price match is accepted
Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 7200.12 1TB SATA 32MB Cache 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive OEM I could go for even cheaper HD. This one is at 59.99$ I figured it was a decent price for 1TB
MSI FM2-A75MA-E35 mATX FM2 A75 DDR3 1PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 1PCI SATA3 HDMI DVI USB3.0 Motherboard 61.92$ if PM is accepted. NCIX doesn't offer alot of board for the AMD cpu
Right now, I'm at 220.52$ With ram (4gb? 1 stick or 2x2?)), I might be able to be at 250$
Can I do better than 250$? I may have a Hard Drive at home, so I figure I could use them on it and not get the Seagate Barracuda. I have a 320gb from a broken laptop and also another one 500gb that is serving as a storage drive The AMD aX-XXXX are the APUs (ones with good integrated). I have an A8-3870 and its more than enough power, I can even do a little indie gaming on it. If you are going to make a htpc I would advise getting a nice htpc case that looks good sitting in your TV cabinet, also usb3 is useful for people coming round with an external hdd. But if keeping the price down is your main concern that case looks adequate. You can reuse old hdds (just check they aren't about to die in another computer) or get a slower 5400rpm drive (WD green), movies/streams don't need a full speed hdd. RAM go whatever is cheaper. So A4 would be enough on its own for HD qualty video? (both from reading Blu-ray and from playing streams)? EDIT : Found my answer :D That said, NCIX is backordered on A4-3400. Should I still put it in my list hoping that they will have it in stock eventually
Wait wait... I hope you didn't order yet because an A6-3500 is a Llano for FM1. You have a FM2 motherboard which are for Trinity's and Richlands
And quite frankly, the A6-3500 is terrible when it's only 2.1GHz and you're only getting it at $64. Compared to an A4-5300 at 3.4GHz for ~$47 at Memory Express: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX41712 if you pricematch with http://ncix.com/products/?sku=76273&promoid=1213 Though the A6 does have a better IGP, it doesn't matter much for twitch / netflix streaming.

That FM1 stuff is old and those back orders will perhaps never be fulfilled. It's not manufactured anymore (I think).

What about the celeron? Is that a viable route? I started googling some celeron vs A4-5300 : Both are about same price 45$ (celeron) vs 47 A4-5300

The AMD A series should be much more interesting. They put a "real" GPU from their actual graphics division in there. I feel there's no contest if it's a similar price. The drivers for example should be much less of a headache over time. You won't play with it, but still... the last time I tried Intel's stuff a few months back, there were artifacts in the two games I looked at.

Intel has the 23.976 fps bug so not a good option for HTPCs?

? That sounds like a funny bug

Prior to Haswell (for which currently available variants are Core i5 and i7 only, so $190+), Intel integrated graphics weren't so hot with 23.976 Hz refresh rate... for say DVD / BD content. As in, the actual refresh rate is a little slower than 23.976 Hz, necessitating a frame drop every few minutes. Could well be not noticeable for many or most scenes.
If you're mostly playing streams, that's not an issue because you're not using that refresh rate setting.

So both Celeron and AMD A4-5300 could work (so I guess the tiebreaker could be the Mobo : which one has the cheapest :D)

If you overclock, you can lift that CPU to performance that can beat the best current CPUs at stock speed, I'm pretty sure.
If you are unsatisfied with the level of quality settings you can choose in games, it's probably the graphics card. But it's still pretty good, should play most things very well.
An SSD will make the PC feel very different and super fast for all things you usually do around the desktop.
You can take an SSD and graphics card into a new PC, same with a strong CPU cooler, so paying for those things doesn't seem so bad.

I'm considering purchasing the following computer. However i reckon it is a bit over the budget, i would like to shape off around € 100/150 if possible. The CPU/GFX are something i really want, and would not like to downgrade these if possible.
The other items i could swap out for possible cheaper solutions. I did pick an expensive case and PSU, as i would like to have some sort of cable management and this solution should be perfect for it. I'm not sure if there are cheaper/reliable cases/psu up for grabs with great cable management options.
Any idea's to make it slightly cheaper?

Corsair 550D is just purely aesthetics, it's not that much different or better than a Fractal Design Define R4 which should be a good bit less.
Corsair HX650 is not necessary. A Superflower Golden Green Modular 450 or Seasonic G 450 are both semi-modular units like the Corsair HX650 and is more than adequate for the configuration.
You're also missing an aftermarket heatsink for overclocking. If you aren't overclocking then you are wasting money on a 4670K and Z87 motherboard. The Z87-A board is also not good amongst its competition but I guess it depends on pricing and selection available to you.
A Caviar Black is largely useless when you have an SSD already and Caviar Blacks are fucking loud so they're not suited for a silent chassis like the 550D. Caviar Blacks don't differ that much from a Caviar Blue in terms of noticeable performance, the major difference would be Black's five year warranty versus Blue's two year warranty.
You should also consider a GTX 760.

You didn't pick a thirdparty cooler. So you're not planning to overclock? If so, you can drop down to the non-K version of the CPU and you don't need a Z87 motherboard either, which gives you 2 areas to save money already.

I actually like the Fractal Design Define R4 better with its 140mm fans, and it's about 95 €, available in white and black and aluminium front. The case has everything dampened and the unused fan mounts are boarded up.
Cheaper PSU like mentioned, 450 W is enough.
Look at a normal HDD like mentioned, and look at a normal SSD instead of professional. Perhaps go for 128 GB size. Also, Samsung 840 at 250 GB is similar price to what you chose.
You missed the GTX 760 being released this month!
You could compare prices at different shops. I think you can shave of a few 5 € and 10 € on each part just with that.
If you forgot the cooler, a cheap, strong air cooler would be Thermalright HR-02 Macho for 40 € or Zalman CNPS14x. From the strongest air coolers, the Noctua NH-U14S for 70 € would fit very well into this system as it's very quiet at all times.

Ssooo... just got NZXT X40 for my cpu, wanted to test the temps under ibt, perfect doesnt go above 37° C at stock (phenom 2 x6 1090t). edit: motherboard is 970DE3/U3S3, it's that's of any use
Problem now.... After just the first test passed, 3 times in a row it would do a black screen, and i restarted the computer (that was a 4gb ram usage). Tried it at 2 gb, i passes 3 tests and this time though simply crashed completly. I tested my ram (i have 4 sticks, 2*2 and 2*4), only took 2*2 then 2*4 each time in the 2 different slot configurations, always crashed.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/580/mvy6.png/
typicly each time the thing, so i'll just put this screenshot (and i don't understand how coretemp works, i mean wtf min > max? it also was idle at like 43, and went to 33-35 during IBT, really don't understand it)
I don't know how to interprete what's hapenning....

What would best bang for buck SSD right now? I'm hesitant between 64 (cheap) or bigger capacity. What brand?

Many others are fine, but normally the other options around that kind of price or $/GB are from designs with worse track records for reliability.

On ncix.ca, the 128 GB Plextor M5S might also be good, besides the 120 GB Samsung 840.
