Looking for the best priced upgrade to go from my outdated Nvidia GTX 480 into something bit faster for current games I play, which are LoL, Sc2 and mostly Diablo 3 now. Budget is $250, or $500 depending if I would need to sell my GTX 480 to get the best upgrade, I believe I could get at least 150 for it. My rig is pretty solid so I can support any card on the market right now I am running i7 980x water cooled / 16 gigs of ram / 1100 wt power supply that is only running one monitor so just needs to support running ultra 1080p quality settings, but I would enjoy getting back into streaming again. Thanks for the feedback and input from folks who probably already have top end 600 series cards.

Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EALX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" - Can get a black for an extra $30 but not sure if it is worth it AMD FX-8150 Zambezi 3.6GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor - People have told me that i should get an Intel Processor but just going off benchmarks and Itel processor that benchmarks higher then this is ~300 while this is 210 ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS - I know absolutley nothing about mother boards. I chose this one because it was the cheapest that was on the "Also bought" list so i figured it was compatable. SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - Again I simply went off of benchmarks and this was the highest card at a decent price. CORSAIR Gaming Series GS700 700W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC High Performance Power Supply - Went online to see how much power i should need and it said 600 figured i should overshoot the num er it gave me for future expansion. It also was in a combo with my ram CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 - again people online said that 8gb was a good number and it came with the power supply. Entire rig is 1033.47 after taxes and S&H. I mainly play SC2 LoL and Skyrim. I;m currently using a laptop that can run LoL and SC2 at decent setting with good FPS but skyrim lags at anyting higher then medium. D3 gets laggy as well. The main reason i want a new machine is because my laptop runs very hot so i figure it will have a rather short life if i keep using it as a desktop and I would like to be able to play games such as The witcher 2 which i don;t think i could run currently.

with an HD6870 you only use 200w (though more with AMD cpu... a lot more), so a 700w is useless getting a corsair or antec 400-500w will be more then plenty for ram you will want the cheapest 2x4gb at 1.5v you can find

BRO. Picking a FX-8150 off synthetic benchmarks is THE MOST stupid thing in the world, right after buying a prebuilt. i5-3570k is ~7-10% better than i5-2500k and even then the i5-2500k still beats the FX-8150 by more than 30% in gaming (300% in Civ5 LOL), while using alot LESS energy. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/434?vs=288 Buying AMD right now for CPU's is beyond stupid as AMD gave up on performance.

I still suggest you save $300-400 by building on your own and then invest in another monitor or save the money. Fill out the questionnaire in the OP for help. If you stubbornly insist on using ibuypower, get the corsair tx650 power supply.
