Which error code is everyone getting when they crash? I know there are two errors floating around that have similar appearances, one that involved memory and another that involves a file (battle.net.dll).
You can use the Windows event viewer (find it by using the search box in your start menu) to check out the error log for a specific crash.
Here's what I've been getting:
Faulting application name: SC2.exe, version: 0.6.0.14259, time stamp: 0x4b90c46c Faulting module name: Battle.net.dll, version: 1.0.0.17577, time stamp: 0x4b7cdbb2 Exception code: 0xc0000096 Fault offset: 0x000520db Faulting process id: 0xa10 Faulting application start time: 0x01cac1ba48c853e3 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II Beta\Versions\Base14259\SC2.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II Beta\Support\Battle.net.dll Report Id: 809a4857-2db3-11df-9101-001fd08a815b

Happned to me twice in 80 games. I remember I was about to create a new topic here for like three times, even had the post written, lol.
I'm on 64 bit but i see the specs don't seem to matter
|
Do you guys always crash ? I just get your disconected without first experiencing the dropscrean
|
I got it one time awhile back and I never got a win or loss from the game (maybe bnet went down?) One thing I noticed is that the game doesn't lag or the lag screen doesnt even come up your just playing and then it says "you have been dropped".
|
Pls all who has a problem with this, go write that to blizzard technical support forum.
|
It happened to me twice last night and I have the stream recorded in my on demand when I get home I'll try to look for similarities between the 2 incidents

Yeah it seems to be happening to loads of people, I don't think it's a client-side issue since all types of PC are being affected.
|
i had this happen once in a single player game.
|
I am pretty sure the client is crashing due to the disconnect. I dont think the d/c is being caused by the error you get afterwards. The game just isnt handling a d/c well right now.
as far as the drop..i have seen it about 3 times. But all 3 times I alt tabbed right away and noticed my internet had a temparary pause. Just because you have a 15mbit connection or any other speed doesnt mean its not possibly the cause. Also got a kick out of the "im posting here so its clearly not my connection"
If you lose complete connection to the internet, you are dropped even if it comes back before the countdown finishes.
Not saying this might not be a bug, but just throwing in my experience with it. The crash is not causing disconnects.

The odd thing for me is that I have no problem at all staying connected to IRC, WoW, uTorrent or any other continual online service. I was getting this DC/no-response in literally every other game I played and there absolutely no way my internet is that bad.
I say was because I've found that if I restart the client after every game I play I no longer get dropped. I'm going to watch this for a while longer before declaring the workaround to be a complete success, but it gives me hope.

I've been dropped 3 times that I remember. All of them happened as my m&m push was killing a zerg natural <.<

Internet connection is really stable at my apartment, so I don't see why SC2 should bug out.
Restarting the client, I'm gonna try that.

It happens randomly (some days it was every 10-20 games), but I did never got a loss in my stats for it.
The last time it happened randomly has been a while though. I am pretty sure, that it is server crashes. The client then also crashes in return when it gets dropped. Also happened to me yesterday when the server shut down to patch btw.
|
I get a loss for it in my stats, and it crashes as soon as i click leave game when the message "you have been dropped" comes up
